30 Days and Counting…

Till the End of the Fatima Jubilee Year

Those who cannot make it to Fatima, Portugal for the 100th Anniversary Jubilee, are making their way to Caritas of Birmingham, to pray in front of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, in the Bedroom of Apparitions, at the home of Caritas’ founder and his wife. The Bedroom of Apparitions is the special place where Our Lady has appeared almost 150 times to Medjugorje visionary Marija Pavlovic Lunetti since 1988. Over 100,000 people have prayed in the Bedroom of Apparitions. The Bedroom will be opened for pilgrims to obtain the Fatima Jubilee Indulgence on Friday, October 13, 2017 beginning at 12:30 PM, until 6:00 PM.

An indulgence is, “a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven.”1 Indulgences can be partial or plenary, meaning a full remission. The Fatima Jubilee Indulgence, granted by Pope Francis, is a plenary indulgence, therefore a full remission. In order to obtain the Fatima Jubilee Indulgence, one must go to Holy Mass, receive the Sacrament of Confession, pray an Our Father and Glory Be for the Holy Father’s intentions and pray before a statue of Our Lady of Fatima on the 13th of the month. October 13, 2017, is the last date of this year on which the plenary indulgence can be obtained. The founder of Caritas of Birmingham stated about the October 13 indulgence:

“What can October 13th do? Those who have recognized financial opportunity, and seized the moment, became rich. Whether they started a business or made a new product, they capitalized on acting on a decision made of being in the right place at the right time. You have that opportunity now before you. An investment in salvation, the plenary indulgence to be received October 13, 2017, is to enrich the soul. No money can wipe away your sins’ atonement. We all are fortunate to receive this great grace on the anniversary of the 100th apparition of Fatima. While plenary indulgences come from the Church every now and then, the specialness of October 13th, 100 years, the end of satan’s century, makes this a spiritual investment worth more than all the gold in the world. We invite you to come and pray before Our Lady’s Fatima statue in the Bedroom of Apparitions, climb to the Cross on Penitentiary Mountain, go to Grotto La Pluie and pray the Rosary in the Field of Apparitions at apparition time. Can’t wait until the 13th!”

Caritas of Birmingham has hosted many patriotic prayer events with Medjugorje visionary Marija, and is the home of the Patriotic Rosary.

Important: The Talladega races near to Caritas in Alabama, are also taking place the same weekend, of October 13, 2017. There will be limited space, and hotels completely booked because of the Talladega race, so the time to book a hotel for your family coming to Caritas is now.
