Now Free from Mortgage, Going to Medjugorje

There is less than 1 day left of the special Medjugorje Pilgrimage sale. We have spoken with many people across the country during these past two days. Everyone has a story of how God has got them to Medjugorje this year. These stories we hear are truly a blessing.

Luke, one of the Caritas Community kids, helps carry one of the bins of pilgrim ininerary information. A Friend of Medjugorje, when his kids were little, believed that it was necessary that children can “work” (or play), alongside adults. This has shaped how the Community operates today, even handling something like the Medjugorje Pilgrimage sale, the kids are around. The separation which now exists in society between adults and children, never being together, has not produced good fruit.

The following is a letter we received yesterday afternoon. One couple have been following the writings of a Friend of Medjugorje and had never been to Medjugorje before. They wanted to go, but, the payment would not go through. When they were having trouble paying for the pilgrimage over the phone, the husband told his wife that if they could not get it to go through, they would jump in the car and drive from Tennessee down to Caritas to make sure they got booked! Eventually the payment went through. The couple sent this letter just after they signed up for their first Medjugorje pilgrimage during the 72-hour Medjugorje Pilgrimage sale. They then gave a donation to support the work of Our Lady here at Caritas:

“The short story: Last year, 2017, on the 100th anniversary of Fatima, we felt it was time for us to sell our home and we wanted to bless our favorite charity – Caritas, through the sale of it. We contacted a specific realty group who donates a portion to a favorite pro-life charity, (the president of the organization accepted Caritas even though they weren’t on their prolife organization short list,) but, in the end, a wonderful realtor named Elizabeth entered our lives who we felt had the confidence to get our house sold within the first week on the market! She was hired and guess what, we accepted a full price, (slightly over asking price) offer on the 6th day including the closing costs! We had decided we could and would give out of the proceeds of the sale, even more than they agreed to offer, to bless the Community and their needs and/or wherever it is needed most! It was a very long haul for us working together side by side as husband and wife to make this move almost entirely by ourselves over a period of approximately 14 weeks! We are now free of all mortgage and consumer debt, and will be, God willing, joining the Community of Caritas on a trip to the Medjugorje for the May/June 2018 Apparitions, and it has made all the hard work, worth it. ***Yay!! We just got done booking our flight to Medjugorje!!! We are grateful for all our blessings and hope this donation, the largest we have ever been blessed to give, blesses you all, ultimately for the salvation of souls! Praised be Jesus, and Our Lady!”
