We are in a constant state of progress with Our Lady’s Medjugorje apparitions, with the opportunity to comprehend more and more each day and respond more and more each day. Ten years from now we will wonder why we didn’t catch a certain detail in Our Lady’s words, why we didn’t understand why She said what She said on a certain day, why we didn’t really “get it” when She smiled, or looked serious, or why Mirjana, for example, saw a white dove during Our Lady’s apparition to her on June 2, 2010.

A Friend of Medjugorje has brought forth a concept Our Lady inspired in him of why we don’t understand everything now. He says it has to do with “capacity.” While we understand things about Our Lady, there are two reasons why we cannot understand everything now. One of those reasons is that we are simply unable to comprehend it all right now – because it is ongoing. The second reason is because we are not supposed to see and understand everything right now. We have to gain the grace through depth of prayer, fasting, and sacrifice, etc., to “grow” our capacity to grasp, comprehend and accept what Our Lady is doing and saying. A Friend of Medjugorje has spoken extensively about this. Our Lady is ready to immediately fill this growing capacity in you with the new insights or tasks She calls you to achieve. It depends on your prayer and response to Her call.

A Friend of Medjugorje has often said:

“Looking back ten years ago, you say, ‘What a fool I was.’ Ten years from now, you will look back on today and say, ‘What a fool I was.’”

Medjugorje is so immense it is beyond anyone’s capacity to understand and fully comprehend. If you want to try to comprehend the magnitude of Medjugorje, look at the hundreds of books and thousands of writings about only six apparitions of Fatima! Medjugorje will feed conversions until the end of the world.

A Timeline of Medjugorje

Today’s launch is a Timeline of Medjugorje. This Timeline is approaching 1,000 unique entries and will be growing in its capacity, and yet even still it hardly begins to scratch the surface of important spiritual and historical events surrounding Medjugorje.

It is not enough to simply know that Our Lady appeared. It is not enough to know only the words of Our Lady’s messages. There is so much “context” in which the apparitions of Our Lady occur and within which Her messages take deeper meaning. Generations in the future will look back and want to know every detail about the apparitions. Before, during, and after Our Lady’s triumph, they will study and scrutinize the apparitions and everything surrounding them with the same scrutiny that the Scriptures and the lives of the apostles and saints have been scrutinized throughout Biblical history.

How many times have you read something in the Scriptures and wanted to know more? What was it like to see Moses’ face shining like that of an angel when he came down off the mountain.  What was it like when he read the Ten Commandments? How many times have you wondered, “How could the Israelites be so stupid and stubborn? Why didn’t they ‘get it?’ How could they possibly be ‘grumbling’ in the desert when God was walking so closely with them in a cloud by day and pillar of fire by night?” A Friend of Medjugorje states history will judge similarly those of us who live in the time of grace when Our Lady is here walking with us. All Popes, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, laymen, the whole Catholic Church, all denominations of Christians, all religious non-Christians, all who do not know the love of God, those who hate God, and those who think they are God, the ‘humanists.’ No one will escape the mandate Heaven has proclaimed for the earth in these moments of visitation ending in a triumph of the Holy Virgin Mary Who will reign in the world until Her Son comes back for the final battle of which Her messages are the instructions for, and will give people what they need, to survive the Tribulations.

The Medjugorje Timeline is a huge project a Friend of Medjugorje felt called to establish. If we do not record those details now, many things will be lost forever. Part of the strategy of preserving Medjugorje is to spread the “depository archival” of Our Lady’s work on earth now, dispersing it to people across the world. This is the best method to reduce the risk of loss of this information, through individuals in regions across the world becoming physical keepers of it through the Medjugorje Encyclopedias_TM.

In a talk he gave in 1996, a Friend of Medjugorje said:

“I’m convinced that we will never understand how important our role is in this plan of salvation, that during this new time, this special time, a particular time, that we’re never going to know what we’re doing, nor the impact of it, until we are in Heaven, and we can really see it.”

This timeline is very comprehensive, but as we stated above, we know it only scratches the surface of the incredible story Our Lady continues to weave through Her Medjugorje apparitions. A Friend of Medjugorje and his wife were in a special apparition with Ivanka in 1988. During the apparition, Ivanka, while staying in ecstasy with her eyes looking upwards to Our Lady, turned her body toward him and his wife who were only three feet away. Right then and there, a Friend of Medjugorje told Our Lady that whatever he was allowed to see, like what he just witnessed Ivanka do in the apparition, whatever he experienced, whatever he understood through the apparitions and messages, he would do everything in his power to make sure 100,000 people would share his experience. Today, we know his work and witness has extended well beyond that number. Even he was thinking too small at the time. That is why his cognition gave him the understanding, “Medjugorje is always bigger than you think.”

A Friend of Medjugorje’s unique insights encompass not only the words and actions of Our Lady, but also the historical context in which Her words were given – what was going on in the world when Our Lady said it? However, a Friend of Medjugorje says, “The happenings and messages are not to be handcuffed only to the historical events. Our Lady’s messages will apply to all situations in the future as well.” The description of what happened during the apparition is very important as well.

A Friend of Medjugorje’s insight and actions surrounding Ivanka’s June 25, 1993, apparition, in which Ivanka saw the Rwanda genocide before it happened, and which a Friend of Medjugorje was present for, is just one concrete example of this. On this occasion, when the apparition ended, He watched Ivanka begin screaming and rush out of her house, ignoring her husband and crying child, to go to the Church because of what she saw in the apparition. No one else spoke about it. No one else preserved the details. A Friend of Medjugorje wrote an extensive section in his book They Fired the First Shot 2012 about this apparition. As he explains in the book, that apparition predicted the massacre that occurred in Rwanda in 1994, which gives insight into what is happening with the stirring of hatred today in the United States and in the world as well, which gives insight into the hatred being stirred against Christians worldwide today. The details, the context, the follow up, the prayerful consideration that nobody else put forth towards this apparition and message as a Friend of Medjugorje did, reveal important truths about our current state, as well as our future, that impact not only spiritual conversion, but also very concretely our physical life on the earth. Our Lady just said on July 25, 2017:

“…encourage each other in the good through prayer, so that your life on earth may be more pleasant…”

This kind of understanding and insight is threaded throughout this Medjugorje Timeline. It gives you, the apostles of Our Lady, the ability to dive deeper, to compare, cross-reference, make new connections, and gain new insights. It is a tool for your own conversion and a tool that equips you with a greater depth of the “ammunition” you need as Our Lady’s apostles to feed others who will in the future be starving for information about Our Lady.

Without a Friend of Medjugorje’s commitment to preserving the history and details surrounding Our Lady’s apparitions, and with the community fully behind his lead, this Medjugorje Timeline would not be at the same level of quality it has reached. These details are out there for one who seeks it, but no one has the capabilitiy, the infrastructure, and the ability to spend thousands of man hours and years of compiling, archiving and documenting such a vast collection made available for Our Lady’s apostles to use for their evangelization efforts in spreading and propagating Medjugorje. This is part of the specific charism of the Community of Caritas. It is why a Friend of Medjugorje named the Caritas Motherhouse the Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages, because its purpose is to preserve and protect everything to do with Our Lady’s messages and what She will accomplish through Medjugorje for the whole world.

We want this information to be spread, but any material that is original to a Friend of Medjugorje or Caritas of Birmingham, including, but not limited to design, layout, and content, etc., should be referenced back. We take all steps necessary to preserve the integrity of this information, and anyone using the original material without properly referencing back will be contacted to correct such usage. We have made sincere efforts to ensure any other information on the Medjugorje Timeline has come from credible sources.

Our Lady has given Caritas the platform through which to launch, grow and maintain the timeline. A Friend of Medjugorje has planned this from the beginning of his involvement with Medjugorje, and 30 years ago he began gathering together the pieces of this timeline and growing in the cognition and experience necessary to explain it. The experience, perspective, and cognition of growing up with Medjugorje and how Our Lady has led and inspired him to understand Medjugorje, gives him the authority to explain these events, messages, and plans in the simple way Our Lady has shown him.

As we have mentioned in previous days’ launches, we are continually working to improve the features and usability across the whole Medjugorje.com site. In building and bringing this timeline to launch, we have already noticed several improvements that will make the timeline a much better tool, and these improvements will be completed soon.
