Will Again Be Opened During this Jubilee Year of Fatima 2017!
The Bedroom of Apparitions, at the home of a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife, in where over 100,000 people have visited, will again be opened this year 2017. Nearly 30 years ago a Friend of Medjugorje’s wife had placed a statue of Our Lady of Fatima over their Bed. The statue of Our Lady was purchased in Fatima when a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife went there on pilgrimage in 1986, the same pilgrimage that led them to Medjugorje for the first time. The statue stands on a pedestal next to a special Crucifix. The Crucifix had been given to a Friend of Medjugorje by Fr. Slavko, where it hung in his bedroom/office which was, at one time, the room of apparitions in Medjugorje. It is always beautiful to contemplate the mystical reality in seeing the small statue of Our Lady of Fatima on the wall facing Marija when she kneels beside the Bed to receive Our Lady of Medjugorje in the apparitions over the years; the same Woman who began a plan in Fatima that will be fulfilled through Medjugorje. In a very profound way, unlike anywhere else in the world, Our Lady connected Medjugorje to Fatima in the Bedroom, acknowledging Fatima’s importance and its fulfillment. Recognizing the continued unfolding of grace that began last year with the Year of Mercy, a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife have been moved to open the Bedroom of Apparitions once again during this Anniversary Year of Fatima, beginning in the month of April and ending in October.
These are particular times in which we live. Sometime in the future, we will look back on all the choices and opportunities that were offered to us and ponder how we did or did not take advantage of these invitations of God, who desires to bless us and help us to open our hearts to Him through these special opportunities inspired by Our Lady. As in 2016, a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife invite you, once again, to the Bedroom of Apparitions this year to honor and thank Our Lady for Her love and concern shown to the world over this past century. Come, and by your prayers, help Our Lady fulfill the plans of God for you, your family, our nation and the world. She is “begging” for our prayers:

on Penitentiary Mountain at Caritas
is Now Open for Pilgrims!
This Cross, which was built For the Soul of America, is a sign on the mountain top, that this Nation is wedded to the Cross of Jesus Christ. This year, when a Friend of Medjugorje is spearheading a great movement in Reclaiming Our Lady’s Land, this is the year to be consecrating this Nation to Our Lady at the Cross. The Cross is open the whole this year, below are the suggested pilgrimage days, with which you will be able to make a pilgrimage to both the Bedroom of Apparitions and the Cross. All of these dates are arranged so that you can climb to the Cross on a Friday, and pray in the Bedroom on the next day, on Saturday.
Update March 11, 2017: In this Lenten Season climb to the Cross with the Stations of the Cross will be prayed by the Community of Caritas, every Friday during Lent. The Stations will begin approximately around 4:30 P.M. Central Time USA. * Be sure to call ahead to Caritas at 205-672-2000, before coming to confirm the time on the Friday’s during Lent.

Important Regarding the Opening of the Bedroom of Apparitions
and a Special Opportunity Available
Pope Francis is granting a plenary indulgence opportunity throughout the entire 100th anniversary year of Fatima, which began on November 27, 2016, and will end on November 26, 2017. The plenary indulgence can be obtained during the entire Anniversary Year in three ways. One of the ways to obtain the plenary indulgence, is to:
Prayer before any statue of Our Lady of Fatima—Applies to “the pious faithful who visit with devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any Church, oratory or proper place during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, the 13th of each month from May to October (2017), and there devoutly participate in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary.” This can be done anywhere in the world. Those seeking an indulgence must also pray an Our Father, recite the Creed and invoke Our Lady of Fatima.
To obtain the plenary indulgence, the faithful must also fulfill the ordinary conditions: Go to Confession and Communion, be interiorly detached from sin, and pray for the intentions of the Holy Father.
When a Friend of Medjugorje learned that one could receive the plenary indulgence for the Anniversary Year of Fatima by praying before a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, he immediately realized that Our Lady was providing an opportunity to have souls blessed through a visit to the Bedroom of Apparitions once again, as in 2016. This year, on two of the dates listed below, May 13 and October 13, the faithful will be able to obtain the plenary indulgence while making a pilgrimage to and praying in the Bedroom of Apparitions.
The Church has always encouraged the faithful to “make a pilgrimage” when seeking favors from God. Making a pilgrimage is a tangible way of showing love to God and Our Lady. Last year, in the spirit of the Year of Mercy, a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife opened their home to those who desired to pray in the Bedroom of Apparitions and seek graces to move closer to the Heart of Jesus and Our Lady in a location that has been granted nearly 150 apparitions of Our Lady over the past 30 years. Many hearts encountered Our Lady in this room during the Year of Mercy that holds a special place in Her Heart. This year, with the opportunity to climb to the Cross on Penitentiary Mountain For the Soul of America, as well as the opportunity to obtain a plenary indulgence in the Bedroom of Apparitions on designated days, we are seeing a great movement of grace taking place. Those actively participating in Reclaiming Our Lady’s Land, making a pilgrimage this year is a “turbo-boost” to your efforts.

These are all three of the ways are offered to obtain the plenary indulgence this anniversary year of Fatima:
1. Pilgrimage to the Shrine—The first way is for “the faithful to make a pilgrimage to the Fatima Shrine in Portugal and participate in a celebration or prayer dedicated to the Virgin.” In addition, the faithful must pray the Our Father, recite the Creed and invoke the Mother of God.
2. Prayer before any statue of Our Lady of Fatima—The second way applies to “the pious faithful who visit with devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any Church, oratory or proper place during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, the 13th of each month from May to October (2017), and there devoutly participate in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary.” This can be done anywhere in the world. 3. Application for the elderly and infirm— The third way to obtain a plenary indulgence applies to people who, because of age, illness or other serious cause, are unable to get around well. These individuals can pray in front of a statue of Our Lady of Fatima and must spiritually unite themselves to the jubilee celebrations on the days of the anniversary, the 13th of each month, between May and October 2017. They also must “offer to merciful God with confidence, through Mary, their prayers and sufferings or the sacrifices they make in their own lives.”

Thank you so much Friend of Medjugoje and Caritas. I was shocked to discover that we are in the middle of a Jubilee Year in honour of Our Lady of Fatima. There has been no information about this in my Church. I checked the website for our diocese and could find no information about this great grace.Our Bishop visited out parish last weekend and I was prompted to give him a Medjugorje round. I have left him in the care of Our Lady. I asked him if we are in the middle of a Jubilee Year, he denied it at first and then changed his answer to confirm we are in the middle of a Jubilee Year. Without reading your article I would not be able to take advantage of the grace of the Plenary Indulgence, which I am planning to undertake for a deceased friend. Thank you so much.
