The Ireland Abortion Vote: What Happened?

The Ireland Abortion Vote: What Happened?

May 28, 2018 A.D.

Silence the Lying Voices Ireland

On Friday, May 25, 2018, the people of Ireland voted overwhelmingly to repeal the 8th amendment, which protected the life of unborn children. One of the Caritas Community members in Medjugorje, sent a fax to us about the vote the day after:

“…Today was a very sad day in the Mission House. With Ireland’s vote yesterday for abortion on demand, many of the Irish came into the Mission House shell-shocked. Many were in tears and wondering what Ireland they were going to go back to. But many of them also saw this vote as God telling them that they needed to get their acts together. They needed to convert more. They needed to pray more. They needed to fast more. They needed to trust in God and believe in Him. They needed to up their game, so to speak…”

A Friend of Medjugorje organized a worldwide movement of prayer and fasting, along with others who were also doing similar prayers. What does this mean? Did God not hear the prayers? What happened in Ireland? A Friend of Medjugorje gives a glimpse of this by something which he wrote in 2007:

“…many nations are at a crossroads. Decide for God, and He will decide for you. Decide against God, and He will decide against you. Our Lady said:

March 18, 1996

“…Do not reject from yourself the name of God, that you may not be rejected…”

“It is clear that Heaven is placing the earth under a mandate, through the apparitions of Our Lady, Queen of Peace, in Medjugorje. It is a full confrontation and accounting to God before Whom we stand. Everyone must answer, no matter what religion, culture or nation they are from. We must make a choice for God or against Him, not with our words but with our very lives. How we live out the Christian life determines if we have truly decided for God or not. Living for God, we are accepted. Those nations following God’s precepts preserve themselves. Those who do not, destroy themselves and God withdraws, giving them over to themselves. It is not God’s desire, but rather man himself who repeatedly banishes God until God gives in, regretfully, and says, “As you wish.” Without recognition of God’s sovereignty over homes, nations and all society, man then begins to destroy all future security for himself. In essence, he tears himself apart without realizing how it came to be…”1

For those outside the United States, who look at the United States and the see all the good taking place, all of the things which are turning around, it might be disheartening in light of your own nation which is sinking deeper and deeper in the abyss. Realize that for over 30 years, a Friend of Medjugorje has had people praying across the world for our nation, with over 25 years of Seven Novenas a year for our nation, along with the millions of Patriotic Rosaries, Consecrations with Our Lady, etc. The revolution happening in the United States moved, one prayer at a time, one person at a time, and as a Friend of Medjugorje wrote in the Solemn Act of Consecration of Our Nation in 2008:

“We the people, in your Holy presence, who are nothing, appeal to your Heavenly Queenly power of intercession before God, as our Mother. As such, we your children appeal most urgently, most direly with a cry of lamentation as of the city of Nineveh, who were a people who humbled themselves and repented and God relented of His judgment against them. We, O Queen, deserve Divine judgment. We realize that civilizations across time and cultures who crossed the line of decadence that we have crossed, all met with their end. The signs of the time speak to us of our nation. We have little time left…”2

Where does Ireland go from here? Deeper into the spirit of humility before God, in repentance. It will not happen overnight, as the prayers for the United States did not result overnight, and even today, we are still fighting fierce battles. But, the battle begins on the knees. Then it is God Who will fight for you and the message which Our Lady of Medjugorje gave on the day of this May 25, 2018, vote will come to fulfillment:

“…prayer works miracles…”

Amen!! No retreat! We fight on our knees for our families and our nations! And we pray for the Holy Spirit to grant us unimagined graces through Our Lady’s intercession for our own conversions and a greater ability to fast and pray! I have always felt that abortion is the most grievous evil, our innocent unborn offered as a daily sacrafice to satan. I pray and beg God daily for an end to abortion across the world and for all innocents who suffer at the hands of evil. May God have mercy!! It is not a cooincidence that She tells us the same day, “prayer works miracles!” It is Her calling us not to loose hope but, instead to give Her more of what She needs! “Do not neglect prayer!” May God give us all a greater gift of prayer and fasting!!!
