As the village of Medjugorje prepares for the 30th anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions, pilgrims are beginning to come in steadier numbers. Here, Caritas pilgrims, nearly 80 of them are making the climb up Apparition Mountain, the site of Our Lady’s first apparitions. It will become an even greater flow of pilgrims as the days of the Medjugorje anniversary draw near.
In these days, open your heart to Our Lady in preparation for Her message of the 25th in just a few days. Ask Our Lady to open your heart to Her words that She will speak, and ask for the grace to listen and live Her words. Be in prayer…
Medjugorje Villager picking his crop of Potatoes June 22, 2011
As this villager above picks his harvest of potatoes, we are reminded of the earlier, simpler days of Medjugorje, with a rugged and sturdy people whom Our Lady chose and said on November 15, 1984:
Medjugorje visionary Marija once told the founder of Caritas, A Friend of Medjugorje, that she remembers in the early days working so hard in the fields, and coming home late at night and tired, but so very happy. Their life though hard was full of a pure joy.
Our Lady has told us that She wishes us to be happy. So, with 30 years of apparitions what is Our Lady truly leading us to, and to what kind of life in the future? We should be meditating on these thoughts throughout these next days.
