Our Lady of Medjugorje has spoken many times about the power of confession. Those who have come to Medjugorje know especially of the power of confession while here in the village.
Father Philip Kemmy of Ireland spoke about his own experience with confession and it illustrates what Our Lady has told us about the sacrament. Father Kemmy talked about how living in truth will set us free and we can experience the greatest freedom by receiving absolution in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He had gone many times to confession, but would hold back a part of his past. He would feel good for awhile but always realizing that he had kept something back from Jesus. Finally in Medjugorje he was able to give a confession like never before. Father said, “What I received was a complete and total healing from my past and a great love for the priesthood.” He said his path to the priesthood followed quickly thereafter and that he could say his vocation to the priesthood was in a sense born in the confessional in Medjugorje. Father urged all the pilgrims to take the opportunity to go to confession while here in Medjugorje.
