Following is Our Lady of Medjugorje’s February 2, 2018, message given through Mirjana:

“Dear children, you whom my Son loves, you whom I love with an immeasurable motherly love, do not permit for selfishness, for self love, to rule the world. Do not permit for love and goodness to be hidden. You who are loved, who have come to know the love of my Son, remember that to be loved means to love. My children, have faith. When you have faith you are happy and are spreading peace; your soul trembles with joy. My Son is in such a soul. When you are giving yourself for the faith, when you are giving yourself for love, when you are doing good to your neighbor, my Son smiles in your soul. Apostles of my love, I am turning to you as a mother. I am gathering you around myself and I desire to lead you on the way of love and faith, on the way which leads to the light of the world. I am here for the sake of love, for the sake of faith, because with my motherly blessing I desire to give you hope and strength on your way – because the way which leads to my Son is not easy. It is full of renunciation, giving, sacrifice, forgiveness and much, much love. But this way leads to peace and happiness. My children, do not believe lying voices which speak to you about false things, false glitter. You, my children, return to the Scripture. I am looking at you with immeasurable love, and through God’s grace am making myself evident to you. My children, set out with me. May your soul tremble with joy. Thank you.”

We know there are demons of specialty. We know also there is a hierarchy of demons of these specialties, such as hate, murder, lust, envy, etc. We know lucifer is the head devil of hell. Even in his disorder, he still has charge of hell. We, therefore, know there is a demon of selfishness. We know from Our Lady’s message last month, January 2, 2018, that Our Lady said:

“…love is beginning to disappear on earth…”

We know today, through Our Lady’s February 2, 2018 message, Our Lady says ‘selfishness, self love.’

We know by Her words, the demon of selfishness and self love has implemented his plan, his works of wonder, his false things, his false glitter and has positioned his ‘self’ to rule the world. Ask yourself what thing, what instrument, what powerful tool of the demon of selfishness and self love holds the first position to rule the world – from the poorest to the richest, from every region of the cities to the rural outposts, from the highest sky scrapers to Africa’s huts. A tool that the world can do without, yet believes the lie that it is a necessity. Our Lady said today:

“…My children, do not believe lying voices which speak to ‘you’ about false things, false glitter…”

What is it that the king demon has, of what Our Lady is speaking about, in his demon arsenal? Remember, demons lie; demons make you think what is bad for man is good. The demon of selfishness and self love, including self importance, bypasses your discernment and-legitimizes what is not legitimate; making a necessity out of something that is not necessary. Man has fallen under this demon’s spell and it has already begun to rule the world, but Our Lady tells you not to let it rule “your” world. The demon no longer disguises his plan and tools because his lies have become normalized and are thought of as not selfish nor self love. The demon has become so relaxed in ruling that he makes no effort, even through verbiage, to hide it. Our Lady said today to contradict his lie with the opposite.

The demon of selfishness and self love and his cohorts from hell crown their deception with a word that draws no alarm or criticism and though a grave error, it is accepted as harmless. The word, “selfies,” is a word that symbolizes how far man has fallen away from God to self. “selfies” evolved through the prevalent worship of the idol of cell phones that bred self-importance, even among the followers of Christ, the Humble King. Many can see no harm in what this symbolizes in the human heart today and would scoff, even laugh, at these assertions. Our Lady of Medjugorje said:

“…You continue to be deaf and blind as you look at the world around you and do not want to see where it is going without my Son…”

Much, very much of the world cannot comprehend or grasp the seriousness of the above. What is the big deal of taking “selfies”? It is not a sin in and of itself, but rather, what it epitomizes. “Selfies” are at the top of the food chain of the focus of self that has evolved to through decades and myriads of social upheavals and technologies. Few people understand this. Just one example to illustrate how far we have come from where we once were: In the late 1800s and beginning of the 1900s, it was scandalous and frowned upon for women to go to beauty parlors. The Sisters of St. Francis, who at that time helped train nurses in the Minneapolis region, expected future nurses to be upright and moral. That included a requirement, of which no one would understand today, that to be a nurse, one could not go to beauty parlors. If a woman did not agree to that requirement, she could not go to nursing school. Sounds bizarre to today’s ear, yet if one understood the wisdom back then, that this would lead to the “self-centered mentalities” of today, you would understand why all society back then had such norms. The moral norm was not self-centered but selfless-centered. Few today will understand this.

That is not to say that in times past, women were discouraged in making themselves presentable; the woman has and always will be the symbol of beauty. Our Lady, Herself, is the definition and essence of physical beauty, as well as the beauty reflected through Her Heart. Yet, Our Lady would never take a “selfie” or preoccupy Herself at beauty parlors or with other things that man is consumed with today. She, rather, tells us why She is beautiful.

“I am beautiful because I love. If you want to be beautiful, love. There is no one in the world who does not desire beauty.”

Our Lady’s words today are very pointed and profound in addressing what the world is saturated with but does not recognize: selfishness and self love. Look at the ugliness of people today, of the ugliness of the character of man, the loss of beauty of what mankind now represents. When one looks at man, how he is made, how perfect the body’s design is, its capability, the detail of its senses, one is looking at the maximum creativity of God, that He cannot exceed the perfection of His design of man. How can that be said? Why would God not create man to the maximum? If you were going to have your only Son placed in human flesh, what would you hold back from it if you had unlimited power to make perfection? Nothing, no animal, no mountain, not the whole universe, nothing in creation exceeds the perfection of the creation of the animal – man – and his capability of function. While God cannot exceed Himself in making something greater than the human creature itself, He ennobles it by what distinguishes man from animals. The man is infused by God with a soul, making man not an animal. Nothing will ever be created by God out of matter of the universe greater than man. But when the beauty of man’s soul is degraded, he can become lower than the animals of the earth. Even though a perfect created creature, the assaults of the demon of selfishness and self love so easily can take root in the heart of man, when man becomes self-centered rather than God-centered. When man focuses on his perfection and how he has “evolved” through evolution so wonderfully, he becomes a humanist with no need of God. Adam and Eve were perfect in their very beings, of being human, with untarnished souls until the failure that came to them through listening to the lying voice and believing in it. The first sin: placing ‘self,’ above God. We suffer sickness, disease and other things not because God did not make us perfect, but because man degrades himself and has allowed imperfection into perfection.

Selfishness and self love are out in the open and normalized in the world’s culture. Today Our Lady gives us two “do not permits” to contradict the world:

1. “Do not permit for selfishness, for self love, to rule the world.”

2. “Do not permit for love and goodness to be hidden.”

You are not to hide. You are called, not only to contradict what is ruling the world today, but to cancel it and annihilate it. Our Lady tells you to come out of the closet to counter those who have come-out-of-the-closet in the last decade. Those, in the past, had to stay hidden because the goodness of society and man’s witness would not allow those who degrade themselves to come-out-of-the-closet and, thereby, suppressed their bad behavior. Those in times past knew that the dangers of selfishness and self love, embodied in the beauty parlors of the world, would lead to destruction of goodness. Selfishness and self love have come out of hiding and are ruling the world. We, as followers of Our Lady, are no longer to be suppressed. Our Lady now calls us to no longer stay hidden as love is disappearing on the earth. Love is being hidden, along with goodness. That Our Lady gives Herself to you is “evident,” as She says, and testifies boldly that love and goodness is no longer to stay hidden. God is goodness. Don’t hide Him. Goodness means God. God is peace . If you are spreading peace, you are not hiding love and goodness. St. Paul says he is always in battle with the spirit vs. the flesh. “Your soul trembles with joy,” Our Lady said. The flesh strives to rob the soul of the joy that would make it tremble.
