When LIFE magazine decided to do a major feature article on Medjugorje they called Caritas of Birmingham. They wanted to know if we could put together a pilgrimage to go in two weeks. We told them it would be nearly an impossible task to find even 20 pilgrims to go in two weeks, much less to book and ticket them, with several mailings back and forth and other logistics. But after praying, we accepted the request knowing that the spreading of Our Lady’s messages would be the fruit. In the short time frame, we booked 26 pilgrims from all different backgrounds, from across the United States. LIFE magazine’s writer and photographer came and spent time with Caritas before accompanying our pilgrims to Medjugorje.
