We share with you a letter sent to us from Field Angels in Ohio who attended our Five Days of Prayer December, 2002. We had a chance to get to know them a little more personally during their time with us. It takes real courage to make certain changes in the family these days. It is difficult to go against the current of today’s culture and sometimes our greatest opponents come from within our own families. Certainly God knows how difficult a path He asks us to follow. But the rewards, if we persevere, are well worth it. And sometimes God grants us real miracles just to let us know we are walking in the right direction.

Dear Community of Caritas,
My wife and I decided after our December retreat with you, that we would no longer have television in our home. It is without a doubt the best decision we have ever made for our family. We had no idea how much harm the television was causing all of us. We had four rolls of film developed today and what we saw was unbelievable. There is a joy in our kid’s faces that seems to come from the very depths of their being. The difference from before and after is so remarkable that we wanted to send you a few pictures. One is of two of our kids and three of their cousins. It is not hard to see which ones are not being exposed to the TV. Thank you for helping deliver us from this evil.
We sent a few other pictures we thought you and your kids might enjoy. Late on Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning we got about six inches of snow. On Christmas Day we decided to make a snowman. We found a hat for him and it had the name of the submarine that my father had served on so we thought we would take a picture and give it to him for his birthday. We never expected to see what we saw when we woke up the next morning. The snowman was bowing to the Holy Family that was off to the right of him. I tried to straighten him up so he would not fall and break, but it had gotten cold over night and the snow was no longer good for packing. So I just moved the Holy Family closer to him. Every day he bowed lower and lower until he was almost prostrate. I was born and raised in Michigan and have made many a snowman but have never seen anything like this before. It made me think of how sad it is when we go into a parish and see many if not most walk right past Our Lord in the Tabernacle without even bending their knee. Very few will even bow their head at the words “born of the Virgin Mary and became Man.” The Incarnation is such an awesome mystery that it seems even the elements of nature cannot resist to pay homage to The Word made flesh. Thanks again for all you have done for our family. We enjoy being with you so much I don’t think we will be able to wait till next December to come and visit. May God reward you for your faithfulness. With love and affection,
Holland, Ohio
What this family experienced this Christmas, as never before, without the television in their house, was quite simply: Peace. When peace comes to a home, it can even be noticed in creation surrounding that home. Below is a message given by Our Lady in Alabama, when She appeared in the loft of the home where Marija was staying, holding baby Jesus in Her arms. These pictures actually “show” creation in homage to its King.

“Dear children, I call you to peace. Live it in your heart and all around you so that all will know peace—peace which does not come from you but from God. Little children, today is a great day! Rejoice with me! Glorify the Nativity of Jesus through the peace that I give. It is for this peace that I have come as your Mother, Queen of Peace. Today I give you my Special Blessing. Bring it to all creation, so that all creation will know peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

WOW! What a powerful and exciting message! We are already armed with the armor for battle that we need to win this war. Let us all USE and show others how to use these tools. Love is all you need Well, not quite. Add to that, prayer, fasting and the scaraments and we WILL win this war. Gods little pencil
