Over a year ago, pen was put to paper to begin what would become the book, Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping. What started out as an 8-page Words of the Harvesters, ended up becoming a 598-page treatise on the times in which we live. This was a writing that was difficult from the beginning because from the outset we wanted to get this into people’s hands as soon as possible. It is information for people of all faiths, all walks of life, all nationalities, and time, we felt, was of the essence. Our Lady’s thoughts were different, however. Every time it seemed that our founder was nearing the end of writing a new item would come across his desk, he would make an observation on his travels, he would discover something unexpected in his research, etc., revealing something else that needed to be addressed. We believed that Our Lady was directing information towards our founder, so that he could bring into the light, what has been hiding in darkness. But then, as we were becoming more educated to evil agendas that were unfolding in our nation at an alarming rate, the desire to see the book finished only increased, yet we seemed unable to bring it to completion, as there seemed to be always one last chapter that had to be added. But despite our anxiousness, we knew Our Lady was directly involved in the process of this book. We knew that perhaps it was better for the book to be delayed, that Heaven’s timing was always perfect, and that the day we would hold that first, completed book in our hands would be the day it was suppose to be completed. That day came to pass. We have held the completed book in our hands, and what we believed in faith all this past year, that God’s timing is perfect, was brought to light and we could see that the book was not delayed at all. In fact, it was finished precisely on time, so precisely that had we known the exact day and time it was to be completed we could not have orchestrated the event to such perfection. What we didn’t know, couldn’t possibly have known, was that there was a parallel course of action that was proceeding along at the same time as our own, moving on its own time line throughout this past year, plans were laid out, steps were taken, all the while leading to a day and a time when the waiting would be over, and the plan would be completed. This parallel course of action intersected just as the book was being brought to completion. Two separate courses of action that were led to their final conclusions at the same exact moment. God’s timing is indeed perfect.

Our founder finished writing Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping™ on Good Friday. On Holy Saturday the final proofing took place and the index was completed. The day after Easter, the long process began of printing, cutting, folding and collating the first 2,000 copies which took all week, with the community men scheduled on shifts to work through the nights. The following Saturday, the cover of the book was printed. We celebrated Divine Mercy Sunday, and then came into work at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16th, knowing that this was the day the book would come together. The community gathered around the pallets that held the cover of the book. We knelt down and laid our hands upon them to bless them as we prayed. We were approaching the final moments of bringing the book to completion, a year long labor of researching, writing, editing, planning, and praying—and within just a few hours, we would be holding the book in our hands. We prayed it would become a tool for Our Lady to destroy satan’s kingdom of darkness that he is successfully forging in our nation and world.
As we knelt there in prayer, we did not know that at that exact moment in time, someone else was nearing the completion of his well laid out plans. He held within his hands a tool that he needed to execute his plan. At 7:15 a.m., as we made the Sign of the Cross to end our prayer, and begin the final steps in binding Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping™, the Virginia Tech police received a 911 call reporting gunshots from inside a dormitory. It ended up being yet another “wake-up” call for our country.
At 8:00 a.m., the students at Virginia Tech, uninformed and unsuspecting, began their first classes of the day. Inside the Caritas print shop, as pallets of collated books were being moved in place, and the cover of the book was being cut to size, Seung-Hui Cho, having just killed two students in cold blood, left the scene of the murder to mail a package to NBC News that contained a video he had made earlier giving the rationale behind his horrendous actions—the contents of which would be displayed worldwide to the horror of all the next day.
At 9:00 a.m., the power switch of the book binding equipment was turned on and the machine was given a once over to make sure everything was working properly. At 9:26 a.m., all faculty and students at Virginia Tech were notified by e-mail of the murders that had taken place earlier in the morning. At Caritas, beginning around 9:30 a.m., the first copies of the book were being loaded in the book bnder, while back at Virginia Tech, Cho was making his way through Norris Hall, brandishing two guns. At around 9:45 a.m.—there it was, the first completed book! The answer to America’s woes; the hope for America’s future. And inside Norris Hall? At least twenty-two students and five teachers (three others were still to be identified at the time of this writing), lay slain in their own pool of blood, and their killer, Seung-Hui Cho, dead as well, by his own hand, the last act of his perfectly executed plan.
It was a few days after the Virginia Tech massacre that we realized the time line of events perfectly matched our own in finishing the book. It was a startling revelation. But what impacted us just as strongly was what our founder had written in the book. It was a prophecy for the shootings at Virginia Tech. And we cannot help but believe, with the timing of the first completed book matching the exact moment of the slaughter, that more dark days await our nation. For why else would God’s hand be in the two happening simultaneously? What follows was taken from page 169 of Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping:
“God is removed out of school, so there is no protection and there will not be until He is reintroduced. Many Christian schools, because they have so many secular aspects within them as to be more secular than Christian, are not excluded. There are no students or teachers safe in a system which has denied the Judeo/Christian ethic principles and the Christian faith. It is a reality of our time that it is a matter of life or death. God is protection. Where God is not, there is loss of protection and death.”
When we read the above, we involuntarily shivered as the full impact of those words hit us, “…there is no protection…no students or teachers are safe…it is a matter of life or death…Where God is not, there is…death.” In the video that Cho sent to NBC, he makes reference to Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the students at Columbine High School in Colorado who killed 12 classmates and a teacher. The killings at Columbine took place eight years ago within days of the Virginia Tech killings. What does all this mean? Apparently, Cho chose the week of April 16th knowing it coincided with the Columbine massacre. But why did Our Lady tie the completion of the book to this event?
First of all, because Our Lady is indicating that this is a prophetic book. It tells of things that will happen in the future, whether for the good or for the bad, depending upon how we respond to the call within it. Our Lady gives this sign to say to all of us, take what you read seriously. It is a matter of life or death. At the same time, our belief is that satan fears this book. He sees it as a great threat to his plans and agendas for our nation and the world. And in his anger and fury, he orchestrated the events that led to this great heart-wrenching tragedy to strike back at Our Lady for the wisdom She granted our founder in writing this book. Once you read the book, you will understand why satan is so threatened.
Secondly, She wants us to look carefully at what happened at Virginia Tech. Within the tragedy, there were a few shining moments such as we had on September 11 with the firefighters in the Twin Towers and the civilians on Flight 93. Seventy-six year old Liviu Librescu saved all the lives of his students, 15 separate lives, by his heroic act of blocking his classroom door as the killer tried to enter giving precious time for students to jump out the window before he succumbed to the numerous gunshot wounds fired at him at point-blank range. But despite the increasing threat of violence in our schools and society, such as was experienced at Columbine, we were so woefully caught off-guard. In one classroom, it was reported that Cho took his time in between each shot, moving from person to person. Many are troubled at the passivity of some of the students, why there wasn’t at least an attempt to join together in an uprising to overcome him, rather than just accepting such a hideous fate. To the question, would we have done anything different, many would reply “probably not.” But we believe, through Our Lady’s leading, that if we are going to withstand the assaults coming to us in the future, we must.
Tragically, it is a reflection of the culture in which we live. Christians have become passive and compliant in the face of so many attacks on everything that we hold sacred in our nation, hoping and praying that maybe the bad things will all just go away. For years we have seen the warning signs and deterioration. But we have all been sleeping. Evil’s agendas were in the planning stages for years, but now they are coming out in the light. And because of the passivity of so many Christians, evil is becoming more and more emboldened. We are being faced with diabolical plans that aim at destroying everything we hold dear in our lives, and we are finding ourselves in the position of those students who were confronted with their killer when he walked into their classrooms that Monday morning. Will we have the resolve to engage the enemy? satan is counting on us remaining non-combative just as we have been trained to do through years of politically correct indoctrination and fear tactics aimed to destroy the resolve of anyone who refuses to give in to their agendas. The tragedy that took place on April 16th, does not have to remain a tragedy if we learn from the lessons that are presented to us through examining and reflecting on the events, together with reading Look What Happened While You Were Sleeping™, and taking it seriously.
There is no other way to win the battles ahead of us. We are coming into a time when Christians must engage the enemies of our faith, our families and our nation if we have any hope of surviving. If we cannot summon the courage and resolve to do so, we will find that we have inherited a world in which when we look back upon those who died on April 16th, it will not be with pity, but with envy.
