Apparition and Message Given to Mirjana on the Day for Nonbelievers
Yesterday on August 1, 2013, anxious to get the best seat in which to see Mirjana and be close to Our Lady during the August 2, 2013 apparition to Mirjana, the first two pilgrims arrived at the Blue Cross at 2:30 p.m. to spend the night in preparation for Our Lady. These two American pilgrims were joined by another 15 American pilgrims by 6:00 p.m., and the slow trickle of “early bird” pilgrims continued for a few more hours. By morning there were thousands and thousands of pilgrims covering the mountain, many of whom were youth who were in Medjugorje to also participate in the Youth Festival. Several flags from different countries waived high in the air as the youth showed their patriotic love for their nations. Mirjana arrived with a smile on her face but very quickly entered into the seriousness of preparing for Our Lady. She shed a few tears while praying the rosary before her face lit up with joy at the arrival of Our Lady. The apparition lasted approximately 5 minutes, and the mountain was completely silent until the end of the apparition when many in the crowd, perhaps involuntarily, cried “Oh!” as they saw Mirjana’s face turn upward signaling the departure of Our Lady.

A mother with her young daughter at the site of the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain in Medjugorje the night of August 1, 2013, awaiting Our Lady’s apparition to Mirjana the next morning. “Camping out” is often an activity of the young, whether it be sleeping in sleeping bags in the living room of their home, or in a tent in the backyard, or camping with the family. These memories stay with us for our entire lives—the sights, the sounds, the smells. What will this young girl remember of this night spent on rocky ground, surrounded by people who speak other languages that she does not understand, snuggled close to her mother who reads to her of these holy events that they are blessed to be able to experience together? Our Lady said,

If you cannot bring your children to Medjugorje, next second of the month, have a vigil “campout” in your own home. Spread your sleeping bags by Our Lady’s statue in your home with your children. Light candles. Read stories. Talk about the grace-filled events taking place in their lifetime. Find what time of the day or night the apparition is taking place and gather them on their knees to ask Our Lady’s blessing wherever you may be. They will remember this time when they grow older—this time with you, this time with their Heavenly Mother.
With the Youth Festival many young priests are present in Medjugorje who have accompanied youth groups. Here are three priests, from three different orders, who gathered early this morning, August 2, 2013, to be in Our Lady’s presence with tens of thousands of other pilgrims. Many, many young priests around the world today received their vocation through Medjugorje. They often will come to Medjugorje after their ordination to say a Mass in St. James Church in thanksgiving to Our Lady for inspiring them to accept their calling and for accompanying them on their way.
Concerning the youth, Our Lady said,

This message was given 15 years ago, and the situation with the youth has gotten much worse. Who can deny that satan has been very successful in diverting today’s youth in Christian families away from God, away from Truth and holiness, away from salvation? Our Lady has said to Mirjana that when you pray for unbelievers, you are praying for your own future. The millions of youth who are being educated and influenced towards godlessness will one day hold positions in every walk of life—from politics, to heads of corporations, to classroom teachers, to physicians and scientists. They will be the ones making decisions over what will be allowed and not allowed in the culture. Heed the words of Our Lady and look for opportunities to involve yourselves in the lives of the youth around you.
Upon seeing Medjugorje visionary Mirjana arrive at the Blue Cross this morning, August 2, 2013, a woman begins to cry. The visionaries are the flesh and blood reality of these apparitions of Our Lady. They are the witnesses and when someone has the opportunity to be near them while they receive Our Lady in an apparition, it satisfies a little bit the human and spiritual longing that is in all of us—that even while we are among billions of people in the world today, I’m not just a number to God. God knows me, sees me, loves me.
Mirjana sits quietly, with tears running down her face, as she waits upon Our Lady to appear.
Who do you say that I am? This question Jesus asked of His apostles could be asked of each of us in regards to Medjugorje and is the question that seems to veil the faces of these youth as they peer into the face of Mirjana before the moment Our Lady arrives. Is this true? Is this real? Do you really see the Virgin Mary? Has She really come to help us? To Jesus’ question, Simon Peter simply states, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus says, “Blessed are you, Simon Peter! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.” On June 26, 1981, the third day of the apparitions in Medjugorje the visionaries requested a sign for those who don’t see Our Lady to prove that the apparition was really Her. Our Lady responded:

Mirjana lifts her head and smiles indicating to all around her that Our Lady is there present before her. Silence quickly spreads over the mountain

“Our Lady’s messages keep telling us today, now is the time of grace, now is the time of preparation. Will we be strong enough? Who is Our Lady speaking to when She keeps telling us, “Decide for God”? We must ask ourselves how much we are holding back. It is we who have been reading Her messages to whom She keeps saying, “Decide for God,” is it not? We must without reserve decide for God and be willing to abandon all our miserable interests. Our Lady is building an ark. It is Medjugorje. It is our protection….Watching the ark float away is not the best time to decide for God. Decide for God today.”

Another apparition of the Virgin Mary has come and gone, another message given, but to the vast majority of Catholics and Christians, Medjugorje is not even on their radar. Our Lady said on March 2, 2013:
A Friend of Medjugorje recently addressed these words of Our Lady.
“Those who pass off, discount, minimize, or show reservation about Our Lady and Her messages because it is not necessary for salvation are contradicted by Our Lady’s call to repent for not having accepted the messages. These apparitions are the last, are the most important in the world, and are necessary for the world’s salvation. You do not have to repent for that which you need not repent. Our Lady makes it clear to all, clear to the Church. Do not reject me. Do not ignore my Medjugorje apparitions. Our Lady said:

Tens of thousands leave the Blue Cross after Mirjana’s apparition this morning. Many will leave Medjugorje without having a clear understanding of what She is calling them to. But there will be those whose lives have been changed forever, who have discovered the call of Our Lady and have said “yes” to Her.
