Many pilgrims began to mobilize and head to Apparition Mountain in the hour between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m., though there were handfuls that came earlier than that. Despite temperatures in the 90’s during the day, the early morning hours are still cool and fresh. Though there was a meeting time at 4:30 a.m. to gather at the bottom of Apparition Mountain and ascend together praying the Rosary, many went on ahead, silently praying the Rosary as they climbed. Once on top, all gathered around Our Lady’s statue that stands overlooking Medjugorje. A cool breeze occasionally drifted through the crowd which felt sweet and refreshing after the hot climb. There is a deep reverence among those gathered in the hush of the early morning.

Caritas, Alabama (June 16, 2025 – 9:23 PM) – A Friend of Medjugorje has asked the Community of Caritas to gather in the Field at Caritas, Alabama, each night at 9:00 p.m., Central Time, to pray 3 Rosaries in anticipation of Our Lady’s apparition to Marija each day. This time corresponds to the same time the village of Medjugorje is praying on the mountain with Our Lady. If you are within driving distance, everyone is encouraged to spend some time at Caritas during these days before the anniversary.Unlike Mirjana’s second of the month apparitions in which thousands would come during the night and wait until her apparition at 9:00 a.m., these special apparitions with visionary Marija leading to Our Lady’s anniversary come quickly after climbing the hill, as Our Lady comes at 5:00 a.m., literally as the sun is rising announcing the new day.
A space is saved for visionary Marija where she can kneel directly in front of Our Lady’s statue which gives everyone the reference point as to where Our Lady will be appearing. Once Marija and the prayer group arrived, around 4:30 a.m., she began a Rosary that all joined.
Our Lady appeared to Marija on this second day of the Novena for the 44th Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions at 5:00 a.m. The apparition lasted about 5 ½ minutes. The following is Marija’s description of the apparition.

“During the moment of the apparition, I recommended to Our Lady all of us, all our intentions, everything that we hold in our hearts. In a special way we prayed for peace in our hearts, in our families and in the whole world, for Our Lady to intercede before Her Son for peace in the entire world. Our Lady looked over each and every one of us and She blessed us all with the sign of the Cross and then She left for Heaven.”
After the apparition, Marija led the pilgrims in prayers to honor Our Lady, and lastly the Prayer of St. Francis was prayed, just as Marija initiated last year on the mountain during the days of the novena. We expect the numbers to increase each morning the closer we come to Our Lady’s anniversary.
