We will start Radio WAVE’s On-Air Christmastime season music 24/7, today, December 22, at 3 PM Central Time USA.
The commercialization of Christmas starts way back before November. It will abort the Christ Child the day after He is born and radio stations will return to the regular music of their stations. This is offensive. We live in a culture which dictates to Christians when the celebration of Christmas begins and when it ends. Our Lady calls us to counter-culture and to change the direction of it.
Here, at Caritas, we delayed the playing of our Christmas music for the purpose of keeping alive Christmas well after Christmas Day. If you are prayerful and sensitive, when you turn on the radio the day after Christmas, you will feel the coldness of the abortion of Christmas. There may be a few sections of the country that will play Christmas music a day or two after Christmas, but for the most part Christmas will be forgotten as the marketplaces begin to fill their shelves with spring and Easter items, as can already be seen on shelves of some store chains.
Over many years, we have compiled a great many Christmas songs. Some you know; others you are not familiar with. We will be celebrating Christmas, playing the songs of Christmas, until the Epiphany which falls on January 7th. We encourage you to spread our Radio WAVE Live On-Air Christmas station—in your home, your businesses, and wherever you gather with family and friends and keep the Spirit of Christ’s birth alive in those around you.
