Important Infrastructure Change for Caritas of Birmingham

August 4, 2020

(Caritas of Birmingham, Alabama) – A Friend of Medjugorje has been leading the mission of Caritas to be even more efficient than we have ever been. The mission of Caritas operates debt-free, with very low overhead. Caritas is essentially a cash-operated mission and ranks among the top percentage for efficiency. (See here for over 30 years efficiency) If we have funds we produce. If we do not have funds, we can still produce, by throttling back capacity. This is a way of operating that very few, if any missions can duplicate. Our Lady told a Friend of Medjugorje through Medjugorje visionary Marija on May 31, 1995:

“…Get as many hearts as you can close to my heart and lead them to God, to a way of salvation.”

A Friend of Medjugorje has taken Our Lady’s words, “get hearts” very seriously. Her words to “get” hearts to God informs a Friend of Medjugorje’s actions with the mission of Caritas.

In the past several years, it has become more and more apparent that the U.S. Postal Service is inundated with the “Deep State”. This was very evident when a Friend of Medjugorje wrote They Fired the First Shot 2012, and we saw, first-hand, that people were reporting to us that the books were being removed, and other propaganda was being put into the packages. One person wrote to us in 2012, and reported that their package was opened, and “pro-global warming” propaganda was put in the place of some of the Caritas material. Reports to the Postal Inspectors has resulted in nothing.

Since 2012, we have seen these acts being more and more blatant. With the release of Big Q Little Q, in March 2019, the very same things were happening. A Friend of Medjugorje’s books were being removed and other literature was being put in their place. These are just a few examples of how Christian organizations like Caritas are being silenced through the actions of some in the Postal Service.

Since the Coronavirus shutdown earlier this year, and even after many re-openings, we are tracking packages that are taking anywhere from a few weeks to a month to be delivered. A recent Priority Mail letter was sent, in-state, to an Alabama address, which should have taken one day to arrive, and it took two weeks to arrive!

A Friend of Medjugorje has said, for years, that the U.S. Postal Service is in major decline. We know of many small post offices throughout the Country that struggle, as does our own local post office, because of bad management higher up on the national level. We found out a few years ago, that when we would bring in a mass-mailing of thousands of pieces to our small local post office, the money was not going to our local post office but was being taken and given to a larger distribution center. As a result, a Friend of Medjugorje has had us buying stamps just to help support our local post office. We know that many people in small towns are on a first-name basis with their postmaster and their mailman. But the U.S. Postal Service is in a death spiral because of bad actors, and “activist” postal workers in the distribution centers and in their hierarchy. For those who have heard a Friend of Medjugorje share on the August 3, 2020, Special World Report, Horrific Before Secrets? After Secrets? Or Both?, this is not a system which can be sustained, nor does it ready the mission of Caritas for time of the Great Evangelization, at the release of the secrets.

Therefore, a Friend of Medjugorje has made the decision for the good of Caritas and for the good of all of our people who order from us, that we will be shipping our orders entirely with UPS (United Parcel Service) instead. A Friend of Medjugorje has been in contact with UPS management, and they have communicated to us that UPS is separating from wasteful alliances which sap their energy and time. As a result, UPS will be better able to serve the mission of Caritas. Though we have always shipped with special rates, we now have new negotiated rates for shipping orders in the United States and for shipping internationally.

What does this mean for you?

This means that your shipping costs may be slightly higher. For those ordering online, the $3.99 flat shipping rate will now be $7.00. This $3 difference is the cost of a cup of coffee, but results in a better service many times over. The free shipping option online, which we offer for most orders over $30.00, will now be for orders over $40.00. A Friend of Medjugorje has always directed us to try and make any changes incremental, and with the least amount of impact for you. Though the cost of shipping may be slightly higher, we have already seen some packages actually cost less than the Postal Service. Also, the service offered to you will be much better than before, especially for those who order internationally, as some orders were taking a month or longer to arrive. Anyone with questions can contact Caritas in the U.S. at 205-672-2000. Those dialing from outside the United States can dial, 001-205-672-2000. Thank you.

I did not realize that others had experienced problems with their orders from Caritas! Last November, I ordered Miraculous Medal Round Keychains as Christmas gifts. They took so long to arrive that I had to give them after Christmas! At the time, I did not think to call Caritas with feedback. I think this is a bold and wise move, and I am happy to hear that you will now be using UPS!

Having recently lost my job working for a DHL Contractor, I went to interview at a FedEx Contractor, yesterday. To my surprise, they told me they’d just signed a huge agreement, with the US Postal Service, to deliver huge amounts of mail for them. I found this rather odd, knowing, the DHL Contractor, was paying the US Postal Services, to deliver many packages, for them. After checking into this, I learned, what’s happening, is the merging of territories, to allow multiple companies, to share expenses, to locations they all go to on a regular basis. By doing this, they hope to send fewer trucks, shorter distances without overlap. The problem is, service to areas, beyond high density cities, are going to see a huge increase in delivery times, and higher rates, as more and more contractors, are left with worse and worse territories, to base their businesses on. Yesterday, they told me, “Of course, you’ll have to take, a harder route to complete”, then offer lower pay, so many quit!
