Our Lady Queen of Peace of Medjugorje’s June 2, 2011 Message
Given to Mirjana on the Day for Non-Believers
Yesterday afternoon, several severe thunderstorms passed through the village of Medjugorje. Thunder shook the ground and lightening struck everywhere, while rain and hail poured down from the sky. By the time the Evening Services began, the weather started to clear, and those pilgrims who started gathering at the Blue Cross by 8:00-8:30 p.m., watched the stars slowly begin to peek out. The clouds came and went, but by this morning, it was clear that it was going to be a beautiful day. Many more pilgrims gathered around the Blue Cross throughout the night. By 5:00 a.m., a steady stream of pilgrims climbed to the areas surrounding the Blue Cross, looking for a quiet place to begin their prayerful preparation to be in the presence of Our Lady on this special day designated for prayers for non-believers. By 7:00 a.m., thousands of pilgrims could be seen in every available space possible, and still more and more pressed in up to the moment of Our Lady’s apparition to Mirjana. Mirjana arrived at the Blue Cross around 8:40 a.m. The apparition began at 8:47 a.m. and lasted five minutes. The following is Our Lady’s message:
Mirjana said that Our Lady was very sad. She said that when Our Lady said, “I am offering to you the light of the Truth and the Holy Spirit,” Mirjana saw a particular light behind Our Lady.
Mirjana also said that Our Lady blessed all those present, their religious articles and She especially blessed all the priests present.

When Our Lady first told us the message, “prayer and fasting can suspend the laws of nature,” it was a “new” message. Our Lady, afterwards, through the months and years that followed repeated this message with similar words. They were applicable, but not “new” words as when She first gave them.
“…satan wants to destroy today’s families…do not permit access to satan…” is a “new” message. It says something different, gives a new perspective on how satan wants to destroy today’s families.* Our Lady wants to give us “new messages” and in the apparition today to Mirjana Our Lady spoke a “new message” to us. Our Lady said:
A “new message”!
For years these writings have repeatedly said that Our Lady, on the day of non-believers, was speaking first to us Her followers, as nonbelievers. We have also spoken about this many times on our Radio WAVE programs. Many were skeptical at this pronouncement, even critical of it. They believed Our Lady was referring only to “other people,” not those in Her movement, when She gave Her second of the month messages. Some, even within the Medjugorje movement wrote to discredit and counter the writings from here, inferring that Our Lady was not addressing Her followers, but rather pagans, or other nonbelievers. Regardless of some who criticised, never could it be compromised what Our Lady was showing in Her second of the month messages—that it is we who Our Lady is first addressing and confronting the aspects of non-belief in us. One must always move forward with Our Lady’s messages despite resistance. When one is honest and sincere, one can see it is we who Our Lady first shows that we must change all the non-belief in us. We are all touched, believer and nonbeliever alike, by atheistic aspects the world has formed in us, even though we would count ourselves among the believers. Many Christians have eliminated the “Living God” from their lives to “live their god” as they want. The consequence from this is that they go the direction of the world, and the direction the world is “going” is towards destruction. If you stay the course with the world, you will be in the world’s car when it crashes into the stone wall of God’s will. His “Will” will prevail. All else will fall. This is why Our Lady has come. She has come for this triumph and it is why Our Lady said:
Our Lady wants us to transform ourselves. She strives to purify us. Our Lady wants us to have Her Son. She has said to be a reflection of Jesus. What does this mean? What are we to become? The following story told by Fr. Larry Richards, gives an example of what this means:
An American soldier fighting in WWII was captured by the Japanese and sent to a prisoner of war camp. At the same time, there was a Japanese man who was caught as a spy trying to help the Americans. He was sent to the same prison camp as the American, condemned as a traitor to his country, and placed into the same cell. As a traitor, the Japanese man was tortured badly, much worse than the American. Everyday the guards took him out to torture him, and then threw him back into the cell. The American would do the best he could to take care of him, bandaging his wounds, sharing his food, seeing to his needs, and comforting him in any way he could. After a particularly severe torture session, it was evident that the Japanese man was going to die. The American man thought to himself, “I’ve shared everything else with this man but I haven’t shared Jesus with him.” He bent down so as to be right next to the Japanese man and said, “I want you to know that you are dying and probably won’t last through the night, but you don’t have to be afraid if you just surrender your life to Jesus. He will give you everlasting life.” The dying man looked up into the face of the American and said, “If Jesus Christ is anything like you, I can’t wait to meet him.”
When Our Lady came here to this valley in Alabama the very first time, in 1988, She gave many messages. The very first message Our Lady gave was on November 20, 1988. She said:
Our Lady desires for you to have Her Son. When you change your whole self to become a reflection of Jesus, it is then that “everything that you do and everybody you meet becomes an encounter with God.” When you are accepted by one who knows not the Christ, the door opens for him to have an encounter with Jesus through his acceptance of you. You as a believer, you as a Christian, through your kindness and tenderness in giving love represent God to the nonbeliever, who as Our Lady said, are those who have not come to know the love of God. You are their encounter with God. Through your treatment of them, they will come to accept your reflection of Jesus, and that will lead them to accept Jesus, Himself, as their Savior. Our Lady is standing in front of you today, waiting for your answer to Her question: “…I am here; you decide…”

Having just arrived at the Blue Cross this morning, June 2, 2011, Mirjana waits in silent prayer before Our Lady arrives. With the entrance of the month of June, we are rapidly approaching the 30th anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje. It is too incredible to realize even a little bit that Our Lady has been appearing every single day for 30 years. Thirty-year-old adults walking the earth today have lived every single day of their lives in which the world was blessed by Our Lady’s presence. What is just as incredible is the message Our Lady recently said to visionary Ivan on Apparition Mountain this past Friday, May 27, 2011. Our Lady still has messages She wants to give us. Caritas’ founder had been out of town that day and did not have the opportunity to see the message until that evening. When he saw it, he exclaimed “This is amazing”. After 30 years of apparitions, Our Lady announces that She still has “new” messages to give.

Mirjana wipes tears from her eyes as she anticipates seeing Our Lady today, June 2, 2011. These few moments are always so intense for Mirjana, made more difficult because of being surrounded by thousands of people, the focus of everyone’s eyes. This is an intensely personal experience for Mirjana, one in which the temptation to be alone in the privacy of her own home must be felt very strongly. But Our Lady has called Mirjana, as well as the other five visionaries, to be Her servant, and there is great value for souls to see and experience these apparitions in the presence of the visionaries. It makes the experience real, something they are a part of, something they understand they will have for all their lives on earth.
Mirjana concentrates as Our Lady speaks Her message to her. Our Lady was sad, today, according to Mirjana. Everything in Mirjana’s posture, facial expression, the intensity and tenseness expresses the grief of seeing Our Lady in this way.
The last moments with Our Lady brings a smile of joy, and a heart-stopping look of wonder as Mirjana watches Our Lady ascend back to Heaven. A beautiful picture of what the faces that surrounded Jesus at His Ascension must have looked like as He left the earth. May this be a help to all of us in mediating upon the mystery we celebrate today on Ascension Thursday.
The street just below the Blue Cross is flooded with pilgrims leaving Mirjana’s apparition today, June 2, 2011. Yesterday, the scene on this street was quite different with torrential rain flooding the streets and unprepared pilgrims being pelted by heavy hail. During a recent phone conversation with Caritas’ founder, A Friend of Medjugorje, visionary Marija told him that the church bells are rung when storms blow in that brings hail. The bells warn the villagers of the impending storm and call them to pray for the protection of their crops. The bells themselves are a prayer that God will make the hail smaller so that their crops will not be damaged. Marija explained that she remembers from the time she was a little girl until even today so many times when they saw the hail grow smaller after the bells began to ring. It is a beautiful example of the “seamless” world between Heaven and earth when a people live for God and His ways. It is a heritage that Our Lady wants to recreate in our lives today through Her messages.

We were being treated by being shown the site, with the white cross, where the June 26th, 1981 apparition took place when the thunder, lightning, and hail had reached us. For the next 2 hours or so, the lightning and rain were very intense. Constant lightning strikes around us were “so close” I was wondering if one was going to hit me in the head. Our group “step by step” walked down the mountain through the river and got totally soaked. Our Lady protected us.
I do feel ashamed of my country after the referendum for the bill of divorce passed. We are in the hands of God. Please forgive us. Other couintries who have the law of divorce have nothing but children from different marriages. It is sad. This is not FAMILY. This is chaos and confusion for the new children not knowing the real value and love of real family life. Please Holy Mother help us to turn to God for his love and help.
I thought I was a believer but looking deep into my heart, I can say I am the most confused nonbeliever there is….I am in such need of Our Lady and Her guidance…
I wish that I can come to Medjugorje but it seems impossible, but through your messages and articles we can take part in this beautiful organization of faith and prayers. Dear Blessed Mother Mary: I have so much to think about. This is a very deep message to search our souls and be honest with God and ourselves. Give up the sins that hold us back from being with God. Please continue to pray for me that I will get to confession this Saturday and make it to Mass on Saturday. I need you so much Blessed Mother. Outstanding positive message
I feel so touched with the message that was given to us by Our Lady .ie feel sad that so many times I want to be in the presence of the Lord but I don’t get the time. Its like am too busy for Him. My heart bleeds and got so sad. So many times I feel am a believer but am wondering if really I am or am I being a true Christian. Am again so happy that I’m able to realize something in my life
