Our Lady tells us the world is not an easy place. We share with you one lesson learned from Our Lady’s school of holiness.

Each person who encounters Our Lady is called to be a witness of Her presence. Sometimes, this will cause problems with others when our lives begin to change. Twenty years ago, A Friend of Medjugorje wrote a letter to the mission of Caritas supporters* these words of encouragement:
“Anything that elevates or changes us towards conversion that is from God’s hand will be opposed by satan. It is not a guess but fact. We have seen it repeatedly. It doesn’t mean that we should blame every failure on satan because satan can only do what God allows. satan has no power over God and a simple decision from God binds him. Our prayers help in God granting the decision of protection. Other times, Our Lady has shown us, God allows satan’s resistance to strengthen us. So do not be discouraged if you meet resistance…rather be at peace and remain calm, knowing when God acts [His Will will be accomplished.]”
A letter to Caritas Field Angels* from A Friend of Medjugorje, January 28, 1995
The mission of Caritas was still young, only 9 years old when A Friend of Medjugorje wrote the above to encourage our Field Angels not to retreat in the face of resistance. He, himself, had already experienced so much resistance that he could easily define the patterns of satan in his efforts to stymie the work of God. These are lessons learned in the School of Love and Holiness from Our Lady. In elementary school we learned basic math skills that we had to rely on even as we progressed through higher math courses. The basic math skills gave us a foundation upon which we could learn and apply to harder concepts. It is the same with the spiritual life. The foundation lessons that we learned early in our conversion serve us today as we enter more difficult spiritual situations. Our Lady just said on August 2, 2015:
It’s the simple application and obedience to Our Lady’s words that will lead us to the peace of following God, though we may be opposed or persecuted. Our Lady calls us to follow Her no matter the consequences, no matter how difficult the truth is She might lead us to. This is where we will find peace.

Thank you Caritas Family. Thank you for your prayers, your hard work, your wisdom….. Our country and our priests and families are in so much turmoil. We fear, we sometimes do not where to turn. All we need is Our Lady, her Son, it’s all we have ever needed….but we forget, we become distracted. Thank you for reminding us what is REALLY important…. Love and Blessings, Susan
