The following is a question we received earlier this week in response to Our Lady’s June 25, 2018 apparition to Medjugorje visionary Ivanka:
“Please may I ask why Ivanka’s apparition lasted 3 minutes when Our Lady only said, ‘Dear Children, pray, pray, pray.’ I’m not doubting, just wondering what was said or done the rest of the time during the apparition. Thank you in advance for your kind reply.”

The visionaries of Medjugorje are seeing eternity when they see Our Lady. Time does not exist during the apparition. In fact, Medjugorje visionary Marija has explained here at Caritas, that when Our Lady appears in the Bedroom of Apparitions, the walls and ceiling disappear. Everything else becomes almost 2-dimension, while Our Lady is before Marija in 3-dimensions. Marija said to a Friend of Medjugorje’s wife here, that Our Lady is a real living person before her. Marija said, “It is possible to reach out and touch Our Lady.”
The most recent scientific study confirms that the visionaries go deeper into reality during the apparition. This has been repeatedly confirmed through the visionaries’ own words, and again, as well as during the latest scientific study, which can be read here.
Another concrete example, was that there was one apparition which took place in the living room of the home of a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife, here at Caritas. The apparition to Medjugorje visionary Marija took place on July 31, 2005. Our Lady prayed individually over each Community member present. To those present, the apparition lasted almost 6 minutes, while to Marija, the apparition lasted an hour or more. In regard to the June 25, 2018, apparition, we do not know how long the apparition seemed to last to Ivanka. Our Lady did bless everyone during Ivanka’s June 25 apparition, and we do not know how long Our Lady prayed while blessing. This may have been for a while.
There have been times when Marija has been here at Caritas, and Marija has said that Our Lady just “stayed.” In other words, Our Lady simply wanted to be with us and seemed to linger. After all, Our Lady is a Mother and wants to be with Her children. We understand that you are not doubting the apparitions, and it may cause one to question at least. For some theologians, they have a problem with Our Lady appearing at a set time each day, pre-announced. For us, this is no problem, no different than it being announced that the Pope will be present at such and such a place, at such and such a time.
There are many mysteries to these apparitions. We have a great grace from God that Our Lady has remained this long. Our Lady Herself said on July 25, 1992:
Every minute spent with Our Lady is valuable for us and the whole world. Every day, we should be honoring the time of the apparitions by being on our knees.
