Happy Thanksgiving from the Community of Caritas

Happy Thanksgiving from the Community of Caritas

This morning in the Field, as the Caritas Community prayed the Rosary at Our Lady’s apparition time in Medjugorje, four young turkeys came out of the woods making for a beautiful Thanksgiving Day memory…

There is a story that shortly after Christopher Columbus discovered America a priest who had been on many of the expeditions in those first years brought some gifts back from America to Rome. Among them was a turkey, something that no one had seen before. Not knowing what to call it, they came up with their own name…an American “chicken.” The visionary Marija, when told this story, thought it very funny, especially after seeing a live one herself, on her visits to Alabama.

This morning in the Field, as the Caritas Community prayed the Rosary at Our Lady’s apparition time in Medjugorje, four young turkeys came out of the woods making for a beautiful Thanksgiving Day memory. These turkeys were raised here, given to us by a friend, and sometimes come to the Field while everyone is gathered to pray the Rosary. It is a joy not only for the children, but for the adults as well when these gangly birds appear and strut around the grounds. No doubt Our Lady’s hand was in it today for them to make an appearance “at the right time and at the right place.”

It was a special Rosary today as Marija said that she would recommend to Our Lady in the apparition today the Caritas Community and our nation…a great blessing for us, as well as for our nation, for all that we pray and hope for today as we plead Her intercession. As we remember all the things we are thankful for today, the supporters of Our Lady’s mission are near the top of the list. Please know that you and your loved ones are being remembered in our prayers today, both in the Bedroom and the Field. May your Thanksgiving Day be filled with peace, prayer, joy and blessings.

  1. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the title of this show. Two weeks ago, I had a dream that Our Lady appeared to me during the night, I got out of bed and kneeled and we said a quick prayer together. Then, she did the “call me” hand signal. I am so not a phone person, so this was curious to me. I hate cell phones. I feel so sad when I see people glued to them. Just like Facebook it is a false relationship really. Would these people bother to talk to you if not for this cell phone? Probably not! It definitely angers me to see people on phones while driving. No regard for life! Me, me, me.
