The Grotto La Pluie

La Pluie (“the rain” in French) is the name of a small grotto and waterfall nestled in the mountains directly behind Caritas of Birmingham, near the end of the Appalachian Mountains. Long before the grotto was named, many of the settlers knew of its existence. The history of the significance of this special place is a history that reveals the hand of Our Lady.

We see that it is for a larger purpose in Our Lady’s plans that this has become a place to come to pray for Her intentions for us.

The Grotto La Pluie is associated with a special novena prayer, and a miraculous rainfall in answer to the prayer.
