Description of Marija’s March 13, 2013 Apparition from the Community of Caritas in Medjugorje:
Today, Wednesday, March 13, 2013, the Community of Caritas brought over to Marija three posters with the 115 cardinal electors on it. Marija and those around who first looked at them, stated how beautiful they are. Marija had a couple hundred pilgrims present in the apparition tonight. She immediately took the three poster boards and placed them right in front of the altar where Marija would receive her apparition. Marija spoke to the group for about 10 minutes. She pointed out to everyone the three boards and explained that these were the cardinals gathered in the conclave to elect the new Pope. She emphasized the importance of praying for each of the cardinals, for when the conclave is finished, one of them would be our new Pope.
The group of pilgrims were then led in praying the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary, with meditation and singing between each decade. Marija then came to the front of the altar and knelt down. She started praying the seven Our Father’s, Hail Mary’s, and Glory Be’s. Our Lady appeared during these prayers. Marija’s apparition lasted about 4 ½ minutes long. She seemed to be speaking several times to Our Lady. After the apparition, Marija explained that during the apparition, Marija recommended all of us and all our intentions to Our Lady. Our Lady prayed over all of us and She blessed all of us and our religious articles.
Replacing the temporary pictures of the cardinals made the day before with the laminated boards of the cardinals, Marija, after today’s apparition, took the pictures of the cardinals that were in last night’s apparition and cut the individual cardinals out. She then placed them in envelopes and had everyone there randomly pick a cardinal to keep in prayer in a special way during this time.

Shortly after the apparition today, white smoke was seen at the Vatican. Crowds of people poured into St. Peter’s square amidst pouring rain. Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was chosen and took the name of St. Francis I. Of Cardinal Bergoglio’s election to the Seat of Peter, Fr. Lombardi, of the Vatican Press Office said, “I am absolutely convinced that we have a Pope who wants to serve. His election was the election of a rejection of power.” There is significance also in the date of the election. The number 3 is always representative of God, the Holy Trinity, perfect and complete. Also, in Medjugorje the number 3 plays an important role in Our Lady’s messages where She so often uses the phrase, “pray, pray, pray” which is the inspiration behind the devotion, of what we at Caritas initiated in the 1980’s, of the prayer of the 3 Hail Mary’s. Yesterday was March 13, 2013. March is the third month of the year, so the date was 03-13-13. What does it mean to be connected so close to Heaven that we have a direct line to Heaven through Marija, as in the two days of the conclave that we all can appeal directly to Our Lady of Medjugorje to choose Her Cardinal? Some of the community gathers, while waiting on the others to join them. Having just returned home after Rosary in the Field in which the Community of Caritas honors the time of Our Lady’s daily apparition on our knees, a call came in from Medjugorje from one of our community members who had just learned that the white smoke was seen on the roof of the Vatican. As word spread throughout the community, members began to gravitate towards our founder’s writing office, gathering around the radio to listen who would be named the Vicar of Christ over the world.
Who do you think will be our next Pope? The excitement of the new Pope was felt not only by the adults of the community, but the children were also enthusiastic even if they did not fully understand the significance of our gathering together. The fact that we had left our offices, left our jobs, left our work stations, and the Caritas youth were let out of our “Our Lady of Victory Schoolhouse” to come together told them, more than words could have, that something big was happening. The pictures of the cardinals were pondered by the Caritas children, as we explained to them that one of these would be our next Holy Father.
The poster being held by some of the children and women of the community is a replica of what we sent to Marija’s that was present in the apparition that led up to the election of Pope Francis, yesterday, March 13, 2013 A.D. With community members in Medjugorje working with members back in Alabama, the poster boards were created for Our Lady’s apparitions and transferred to Medjugorje where they were printed and mounted on foam board, and then transported to Marija’s home. Marija was very pleased, and the worker that was with Marija simply said, “bellissima” when the posters were brought in. Keeping with the humility that characterized his life as Cardinal Bergoglio, before he would give his first blessing as Pope Francis, he asked the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square to first pray for him asking the Father to bless him. He then asked for silence and humbly bowed during this prayer of the faithful on his behalf. “Now I would like to impart the blessing, but first, first I ask a favor of you. Before the bishop blesses the people, I ask that you pray to the Lord that He bless me: the prayer of the people asking a blessing for their bishop. Let us pray in silence, this your prayer for me.” After the moment of silence, Pope Francis said, “Now I will impart the blessing to you and all the world, to all men of good will.” Fr. Lombardi, said of this gesture, “It is a sign of great spirituality to ask the people’s blessing for him before giving his own.”

When we entered into the year of 2013 I called the year of Mary. Prior to the white smoke it came to me that it is Marys time ,with Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI announcing his retirement on The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and to add to the 3/13/13 with the election of Pope Francis, it was also 13 days since the seat was vacated. I adopted a cardinal from the Congo and prayed the Miraculous Medal novena for him and my understanding is we are to pray 3 days after the election. So there is the Trinity and Mary.I am grateful to witness this in my time. As Cardinal George mentioned the other day, when Pope Francis was to come forth it was “Dark” and now we are as a church getting ready to enter into the new springtime. Time of Joy!! Peace Cathy

When this man emerged onto the balcony for a few minutes I was very unsure of what would be coming ? Then Pope Francis began and immediately tears of joy began streaming from my eyes. The Humility of 1st asking and leading prayers for Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and then asking for prayer and bowing in a humble stance reinforced the reverence we all have been shown by this Vicar of Christ and St Francis of Assissi devotion and practioneer is such a Supernatural Gift from the Intervention of the Holy Spirit ! I sense this wonderful man will bring not only unity but an Outspoken Charismatic openly preaching and teaching the truths of our beloved Catholic Faith especially regarding artificial contraceptives, (abominable) marriage and adoption and the secularization many countries are imposing on Christians who oppose them and their heathen way of twisting truth
A Friend of Medjugorje was right. The most Holly Trinity has given mankind through Our Lady “a fraction of time, a short, extra period of grace” to decide for holiness and conversion. Let all of us use this time well. Pray, pray, pray… as Our Lady always requests, as Benedict XVI retired to do, as Pope Francis started his pontificate, praying and asking for prayers.
I thank our Lord and our heavenly Mother by giving us our new Pope Francis. My recent visit to Assisi, the home town of St Francis, gives me a much stronger feeling now for this new humble Pope. I trust that he will lead the faithful to walk with God but not the trend of the current world. We pray for God’s blessings to him for good health and wisdom to lead the Church in this different time.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful — what a special time that we are living in. It is no coincidence that this most humble cardinal was chosen to be our leader. As Our Lady states, this is a special time of grace that we are living in! Our Lord God is working miracles every day! Lord, please help us to understand the gifts that you are sending us on a daily basis and help us to be servants of your Word and transmitters of your message!
Here’s something else about our pope having been chosen, or hand picked by Our Lady on 3-13-2013….add all these numbers up individually and you get 13! the 13th of the month is always Our Lady of Fatima’s day.Today Pope Francis placed flowers at the altar of Mary Major Church. I also read today that he persoanlly practices the 5 First Saturdays our Lady requested at Fatima. How Blessed we are!!!
I was watching the TV and saw the white smoke pouring out of the Sistine chapel….it was the first time I have ever seen it live and it was very moving. I have been very moved by this humble, prayerful man and his gesture this morning of leaving flowers for Our Lady at St Mary Major. How wonderful that Marija had a collage of all the Cardinals with her during her apparition. Heaven’s signature has been writ large over all the recent events.
It is such an awakening for all that you do. It seemed like the church was not out there in full. The more we learn about the Virgin and Jesus giving us messages from Heaven, the stronger our beliefs will grow and get stronger. Big thank you. God Bless You.

We have been offering a decade of our rosary each nite since Lent started for our future Pope. I know of many who have been praying for a good and holy man to be brought forward to lead us all. Here where I live it was the 3 o’clock hour in which he came out to speak and it was a wonderful sign to me that our prayers have been answered. I will pray daily for our Pope Francis!!!
I love the display of cardinals you made. Marija must have been so pleased to have one also. I was in adoration when the white smoke was seen. I was so surprised to hear of it on the radio as I left the church. I then realized it was the 13th of the month, the 13th having significance to Fatima, I felt very reassurred that this Pope had been Our Lady’s choosing. Arriving home it was a bit of a wait to find out who the New Pope was. When hearing that he chose the name of Francis, I again thought it a good sign….thinking that St. Francis renewed the church in his time. Certainly Our Lady will be guiding this Pope Francis in renewing the church in our times. I really enjoyed the children’s project of making a picture of all the cardinals and praying for them. I too adopted a cardinal to pray for. I feel it is very important to pray for protection for our new Pope as I really feel he is called by God. I know that we have a segiment of the Vatican that is not walking in Truth and I pray that the Lord will cover Pope Francis with Psalm 91 and that Mother Mary will come close to him and St. Francis will guide him on his journey as our Father and guide for our Church. Thank you for your wonderful work and may Mother Mary protect us all and our Church will never have the Gates of hell destroy what God has ordained. It is with great relief, I write that I am extremely happy with the Conclave’s decision to elect Cardinal Bergoglio as our new Pope. To learn of his humility and commitment to a more normal life, such as catching buses and cooking for himself, gives me confidence the conclave’s decision was what was needed for our time.
What a beautiful experience we have all had in the last 24 hrs. Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart continue to intercede for us!!!
