Our Lady of Medjugorje said on August 25, 2008:
“…bring the joy of the Risen One into this world, where my Son died and where people do not feel a need to seek Him and to discover Him in their lives. You adore Him…”
Our Lady reveals that Her Son is rejected by the world which does not want to seek Him. But, the world is in need of us to adore Him, in order to believe.
The building of the Cross in Medjugorje was done as an act of faith, similar to a Friend of Medjugorje building the Cross at Caritas. Physical acts of faith were once commonplace, as a Friend of Medjugorje shares in this story:
There is a story of a mom whose daughter wrote us. Her mother had died in her nineties. Her daughter wrote of how many times a day she would kiss the cross around her neck, holding it with love, touching it. This is actually normal behavior that all Christians, young and old, should be in the habit of doing because this Man on this Cross is our God.
Is it possible that during this time of being deprived of Holy Communion, that Our Lady is calling us back to these simple acts of faith? As a Friend of Medjugorje said above, “this Man on this Cross is our God.” He does not stop being God by an epidemic or a stay-at-home order. Everyone should take a Friend of Medjugorje’s advice and find a little Cross, and make it a habit of kissing every day. Perhaps it is in this way, Our Lady desires the world to find a new faith in Her Son.
