What does it mean to begin the reign of Our Lady? The scripture states:
Luke 17:20-22
Many of you who have joined with us for this 9-day bread and water fast, have told us how happy you are to join in this fast. And, when some of you wrote to us in the beginning that you were having a hard time, we told you to stay the course, and you will find your joy increase each day. The reign of Our Lady begins in the heart and then manifests physically. What many of you have helped to start in the world, is something which one will always be able to look back on and say, “I joined, I fasted to help bring about Our Lady’s reign,” an honor not given to many, but to those who fought the battle against themselves for Her Kingdom to be established.
What a joy for those who joined with us for this great intention, and what a spiritual heritage, “spiritual wealth” as Our Lady recently said, for a future investment in the Kingdom of Our Lady. Indeed, many in the future will long for the days of Our Lady’s time upon the earth but will see it. You, now, are seeing it in your midst, formed by Her, and a new time manifesting into a physical reality, just as the age of Christendom was formed and then manifested into physical reality.
“Dear friends, I thank you all at Caritas for all what you all are doing for us. This is my second 9 day fast on bread and water after three years. I didn’t sign up as I was afraid I would not be able to do it, but today it’s my 4th day and I’m so happy that I started it…”

It’s funny how this slight to moderate feeling of being hungry does make me think about God more throughout the day and night. We have stated many times, those who join to the cause of Our Lady, in Her Medjugorje apparitions, are taking part in something bigger than their own wants, bigger than themselves. Our Lady said on January 25, 1987:
“I too continue this fast along with Caritas and all who enter this fast. Fighting through prayer for the conversion of sinners in our own families and those of the whole world. I pray, I wait, and continue to offer up all that I am in order to remain faithful to our God. It isn’t always easy but necessary for the salvation of souls. Thank you, Caritas, for your continued leadership and encouragement. Thank you for proclaiming Our Lady’s messages…”

“I am very happy to have been able to come here for three years, thanks to the prayers of believers. Continue to pray thusly. A part of my plan has been realized. God blesses in a special way all those who are here. You can return happily to your homes. You do not immediately understand the reasons. Offer your prayers of thanksgiving for next week.”

Though we sacrifice for Our Lady, to help Her in Her mission through Medjugorje, we cannot be out-thanked when we realize what God grants to Her because of Her children who respond. Our Lady of Medjugorje said on September 26, 1985:
We will see soon, or rather, we have already seen the beginning of the Kingdom of Our Lady being established in the world. Live this next week in thanksgiving to God.

It has been several years since I have joined in the fast due to being diabetic and limiting how much bread I eat. This year I decided to do the fast and only drink water and bone broth. With the help of Our Lady, it was much easier than I thought it would be. It was great to know that I was fasting with so many others. Blessed by Our Lady, Alan
This was our first time as a whole family doing the 9-day fast and my husbands 3rd year. I was hesitant to sign-up but after reading, “A Friend of Medjugorje has often said that the hardest part of any major decision, is the decision itself.” I decided to upset satans plans and go all in. We had a traumatic event right before we started, then illness during the fast, and now miraculous news. Each day Our Lady has given us beautiful messages of encouragement. It has been beautiful to see 4 of our children suffer as joyfully as they are able, their sacrifice has been beautiful. While they may not comprehend their spiritual gain they now eagerly await their physical reward – a big egg & bacon breakfast! Thank you for your witness of sacrifice and love, and for your encouragement throughout the fast! God Bless!
This is my 3rd year fasting. I think it made me conscious of my behavior during this fast. I tried very hard not to be irritable, but sometimes I failed. One thing I did learn this time is to trust the Blessed Mother for strength to get through the day and not break this fast. Now this last day of the fast I am trusting in God completely with my life. It’s one day at a time; trusting every day. This is what I learned making this fast and offering it up for special intentions of the Caritas Community and my own personal special intentions. Thank you for this opportunity.
Dear Community of Caritas. 11 hours to end our fast-pray Novena!!! Some members of my Prayer Group joined. I think as a Group this is our fifth year. But I want to tell you about another member, our dear Angeles who is unable to join the fast because she suffers a rare blood condition called “pancytopenia”. What she offers every year, is her prayers and her sickness. This year her condition has been critical. Just last week she was in the hospital. But in this moment she is joyfully preparing a simple but delicious dinner as an extra offering to Mary to celebrate with us the end of the Novena. (Did I mention her economic condition is also critical?) She says it is something very little… but she does this, in the confidence of Our Lady’s words: “Whatever you are doing with the heart, it is all precious to Me.” Thank you for all what you do for the beginning of Our Lady’s Reign.
I started the fasting on the third day but i will continue to finish my 9 days of fasting running up to 20th Oct 18. I am so happy to be Mother Mary’s plan. I could not imagine feeding on bread and water for 9 days but when I started I did not want to stop. I have done this for the past 3 years and I do it twice a year and I feel very very happy when I do that. I thank God for all who participated and those who plan this great even. Dear Mother Mary continue to strengthen us to fight the devil. We continue to pray for Mother Mary’s reign. Thank you Jesus Mary Faustina – Uganda
