(Caritas photo, September 19, 2017) – Torn bread, just like it is supposed to be. According to a Friend of Medjugorje, it is okay to slice your bread from time to time, but bread is really meant to be torn, if you want to eat it right.
Many people are continuing to respond to a Friend of Medjugorje’s invitation to join in the 9-day bread and water fast, October 5-13, 2020. We are through the month of August in assigning days! One person from the island of St. Lucia wrote:
“Can’t wait to participate in the 9 days of prayer and fasting. The nations need Divine Intervention.”

Another person wrote in, requesting us to sign up their family. This is one of several families who are doing the 9-day fast, together, as a whole family. Families are in need, as one person from Australia wrote:
“Dear Medjugorje friend, thank you for the invitation in partaking in the 9 day bread and water fast, which I wish to sign up for. My children no longer practice the faith and I pray and hope through God’s grace they will return to the Sacraments and faith of the Catholic Church. Thank you for your ministry.”

We are reminded of Our Lady’s words from January 25, 2001:
Whether that fear is for yourself, your family or your nation, this invitation from a Friend of Medjugorje is extended to everyone and your whole family. Families and nations are torn, but, through this 9-day bread and water fast, we are asking God to give Our Lady everything She needs to bring healing and peace.
