Our Lady of Medjugorje said on December 25, 2019:
“…open your hearts, pray and believe firmly and then your heart will feel God’s nearness and that God never abandons you – that He is beside you at every moment.”
God is beside us, and Our Lady desires us to “feel” Him. But, how real is this?
A Caritas pilgrim prays on Cross Mountain in Medjugorje. For many on pilgrimage, the climb to the Cross is one of the biggest highlights of their time in Medjugorje. It takes sacrifice to climb, but the sacrifice results in being more united to Jesus’ sacrifice, and many feel Jesus’ presence at the foot of the Cross.
Our Lady knows that we do not “see” God. However, She desires us to feel His presence near to us. Medjugorje visionary Ivanka tells of her own experience in seeing Our Lady and what is has revealed to her, to witness to us:
I am standing here before you today as a living witness that life after death does exist. Have you ever wondered about life after death? God and Our Lady gave me a wonderful gift. Our Lady brought my mother with Her from Heaven. My mother hugged me and spoke to me. I saw her as I’m seeing you at this moment. Again, what a gift for me, but, I believe it was also a great gift for the world. Now I can speak with authority that eternal life is real!
