Divine Mercy the Entire Year

Just a few days ago, we received phone call from a woman who was a Caritas Field Angel supporter and was reading, Medjugorje, Prepare the World for My Final Coming, the Medjugorje manual for the Jubilee Year of Mercy available through Caritas. The woman had some questions about the Jubilee Year of Mercy, and was confused about gaining the plenary indulgence in particular. After we clarified the indulgence for her, she said, “So this is like the Divine Mercy Sunday Indulgence? There is no difference to what you gain, the full remission of sin and all that?”

We explained that yes, the plenary indulgence was the same. And she responded, “So, the Jubilee Year of Mercy is like Divine Mercy Sunday, but the entire year?”

We responded that, yes that was the intention of Pope Francis in declaring this Jubilee Year. And she said, “How come I never heard this before!? Why hasn’t my priest said anything about this!? None of my friends knew anything about this!”

It is a sad testimony, that we have available to us a measure of Great Mercy this year, and it is easy to take for granted that everyone knows about it, or knows of it.

“…my children, my apostles, listen to me. Leave vanity and selfishness. Do not live only for what is earthly and material. Love my Son and make it so that others may see His face through your love for Him…”

Now it not the time to be selfish and comfortably retreat into the shadows, but to be in the forefront of spreading all which God is doing for the world today through Our Lady.
