Decide, Sacrifice and Work

Decide, Sacrifice and Work

April 17, 2020 A.D.

Our Lady of Medjugorje said on November 20, 1988:

“May your life be prayer. May your work be offered as a prayer…”

This message was given in the home of a Friend of Medjugorje and his wife. The message would become foundational in building community as Our Lady requested of him, and, prophetic of what She would require of him and those who come after – much work.

Pigs in Medjugorje

(Medjugorje photo taken Saturday September 21, 2019, 10:19 AM) – A pig roams around its pen in Medjugorje. How many out there have actually touched a real pig? When a Friend of Medjugorje started visiting the village of Medjugorje he saw that raising pigs for prosciutto was a way of life. It takes work, but work that rewards.

When we first got pigs at Caritas, they were “in” a pen at Friend of Medjugorje’s garden. We say, “in” because they were never in. They got out every day and were mostly on his porch. And where pigs go, their smell goes. Of course, they are really cute as piglets, but, piglets don’t stay piglets forever. It was one of the many lessons learned in developing a way of life, in the Medjugorje messages. When people see the Community life now, many years later, it is easy to lose heart knowing how much work there is to do. But, a Friend of Medjugorje shares a simple insight:

Our life, our prayer is the fruit that comes from desiring what Our Lady wants for us here. While we consider it a privilege to live in Community, we, however, are not privileged above anyone else in regard to the opportunities for anyone to do the same. We decided for this, sacrificed for this, worked for this with interest only in the desires God had for our lives.

Everyone has the same opportunity. It takes hard work. Yes, sometimes smelly work. But, if one decides, sacrifices and is willing to work for it, everyone can have the same life. We have been inundated with requests on what to do now, with thousands who have read, The Corona Vision , released earlier this week. Take a half hour to listen to the Mejanomics broadcast, Life After Corona, as a Friend of Medjugorje shares more just about this.
