We make the choice to live our lives in the light or the darkness. Sometimes we do not know how to leave the darkness. Our Lady said on June 2, 2010:
“…Free yourself of everything from the past which burdens you and gives you a sense of guilt; of everything that brought you to error – darkness. Accept the light…”
How can we accept the light?
Confession is a key to unlock the secret of becoming free from the darkness that seeks to envelop a person; but no place more than in Medjugorje. The Confessions that take place in Medjugorje are a sign of the work that Our Lady does in each heart, to bring them to Her Son. Medjugorje visionary Jakov said:
“…Here when pilgrims come, I always tell everybody to begin a true pilgrimage, we need to have a purified heart. To have a purified heart, we can go to Confession. First, we need to go to Confession. Only with a purified heart, can we accept what Our Lady is inviting us to…”1
A Friend of Medjugorje tells us:
“…Confession is the way to peace in your lives. It lifts the burden of sin from us and strengthens us to live holy lives. Often the priests, hearing Confessions in Medjugorje, are given a grace to understand their penitents in such a way as to be able to speak to their deepest hearts. It is common to hear pilgrims say that they have never experienced a more beautiful Confession than in Medjugorje…”2
Medjugorje has renewed the Sacrament of Confession in the entire Universal Church. Only someone who has been to Medjugorje and experienced the grace of Confession in Our Lady’s village can understand the fullness of the meaning of a Friend of Medjugorje’s words above. Millions of people can attest with their words and their lives that their hearts were changed by Confession in Medjugorje. Why continue to carry guilt upon your heart that does not need to be carried? Maybe one has already confessed but still carries the scar within their heart. What better place to leave it than in the Confessional in Medjugorje and in the other Holy sites like Cross Mountain or Apparition Mountain? Medjugorje is a place of healing.

In this Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis, many sins that are especially grave and normally require special actions are so easily forgiven in this year. There is no better place than Medjugorje to do this. Whether one needs 5 minutes, 1 hour or two hours in a Confessional makes no difference. Our Lady sends the priest you need to have. Both of you are being prepared now. Begin your pilgrimage today and begin to pray for your Confession and the priest who will hear it in Medjugorje. Call BVM Caritas in the U.S. at 205-672-2000, extension 218 or 219 and ask how you can begin your pilgrimage of healing today.
