Ivan had his prayer group tonight on top of Apparition Mountain.

Ivan had his prayer group tonight on top of Apparition Mountain. Rain has been falling all week in Medjugorje and continued through tonight, making Apparition Mountain, not only slippery and difficult to climb, but even treacherous. By 8:30 p.m., only about 200 pilgrims had gathered at the top to join Ivan’s prayer group—a very small number compared to the usual thousands who are normally present for Ivan’s apparitions. Those numbers did increase the closer it came to apparition time, but the rain dissuaded others from climbing at all. Yet, it was Our Lady who called the group up the mountain. If She did so, on a night that made climbing very difficult, many realized that Our Lady was in need of the special sacrifice and were willing to give it.

It was a great joy that Ivan went up the mountain because the mountain apparitions are the most beautiful. Our Lady is almost always happy and Her apparitions last a long time. And Our Lady often gives messages of “coaching” Her apostles for Her plans to be fulfilled. We thank God for Ivan’s perseverance after all these years and for his diligence. These apparitions are not only important for the pilgrims, but for the Medjugorje villagers themselves. It was refreshing to be privileged to go up Apparition Mountain tonight after almost a year without an open apparition with Ivan’s prayer group. We ask all to pray in thanksgiving and to Ivan, we say, “Thank you.”

The singing began around 8:45 p.m. The prayer group sang for about half an hour and then Ivan announced that it was time to start praying the Rosary. He said that we would be praying the Joyful and Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary in preparation for Our Lady’s coming. He also said that we would be praying these Rosaries for holiness in the family and peace in the family. Our Lady appeared to Ivan around 10:00 p.m. and the apparition lasted several minutes. The following is Ivan’s description of Our Lady’s apparition:
 

“As always, after the meeting with Our Lady, I would like to bring closer also to you and describe tonight’s meeting. Also tonight Our Lady came to us joyful and happy and at the beginning, as always, She greeted all of us with Her Motherly greeting, ‘Praised be Jesus my dear children.’ Then, for a long while, Our Lady prayed with Her arms extended over all of us here, and She prayed especially over the sick present here. Then Our Lady said:

“Dear children, do not permit the superficial brilliance of this world to mislead you: materialism, jealousy, arrogance. Do not permit the light of the world to mislead you. Open yourselves to the light of Divine love, to my Son. Decide for Him. He is love. He is the truth. Return prayer to your family. Pray more. I need your prayers so that, with you, I can realize my plans. Thank you, dear children, also today for having decided for Jesus.”

“Then Our Lady blessed all of us with Her Motherly blessing, and She also blessed everything you brought to be blessed. I recommended all of you, all of your needs, your intentions, your families. After that Our Lady left in prayer, in an illuminated Sign of the Cross, with a greeting, ‘Go in peace my dear children.’”
