Shocking pictures are surfacing of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris that is engulfed in flames. This is an event that is taking place as you read this. The large spire just collapsed.

Contained within this very holy Cathedral is the Crown of Thorns our Lord wore in His passion. It is not just a small relic, but the Crown almost in its entirety. We are asking everyone to take a moment and pray that this relic is not lost but can be saved. Our Lady has warned us that satan is out to destroy everything that leads us to holiness:

September 25, 1992

“…satan wishes to destroy everything which I and my Son, Jesus, are building up. In a special way he [satan] wishes to destroy your souls. He wishes to guide you as far away as possible from Christian life as well as from the Commandments, to which the Church is calling you so you may live them. satan wishes to destroy everything which is holy in you and around you…”

A Friend of Medjugorje has visited Notre Dame Cathedral, named for Our Lady, many times in conjunction with his pilgrimages to Medjugorje and when in Paris to speak about Medjugorje. It is a grief to watch it burning.  A Friend of Medjugorje’s first reaction to the news was to say:

“This is an omen.  For this Cathedral  to be burning down, just as we begin Holy Week, and it is the Church where Jesus’ Crown of Thorns has been housed within it for the past several hundred years, God is speaking through this event.”

Our Lady said in 1983:

“Take me seriously. When God comes among men, he does not come to joke but to say serious things.”

For this attack to be made upon the Cathedral named for Our Lady and in which Her Son has been worshipped for centuries, must wound Our Lady’s Heart in a particular way. But what fills Her Heart with the deepest pain is seeing those who are rejecting Her Son as She expressed in Her message of May 2, 2009:

May 2, 2009

“…You are rejecting me. You are permitting sin to overcome you more and more… My poor children, look around you and look at the signs of the times. Do you think that you can do without God’s blessing?…”

Let us lift up our hearts in prayer that souls around the world seeing Notre Dame in flames be moved in their spirits to repent of their sins and return to God.  We pray God’s mercy particularly upon France.

  1. The INSIDE of Notre Dame Cathedral burned. The walls remain standing. The gold CROSS on the Altar was not burned. Many relics, including the Crown of Thorns, have been saved. The INSIDE OF THE CHURCH BURNED. How poignant . . . Beverly C.

  2. I did just as you requested and got down on my knees and prayed. Within in minutes it was announced the relics had all been saved. Thanks, Rick

  3. I think that this is very significant…for what purpose I’m not sure. I have been there twice. The second time, on route to Medjugorje. My mother called me and left a message in her short words, as her speech is failing her in old age. I thought she was speaking of the university at first. As I watched news coverage and Caritas youtube video, my prayer was for the safety of those there. And it seems there haven’t been any casualties. But, also, I raise my question to God…why?? She tells us nothing is by chance…why this?? I think of Joan of Arc…Frances fight of freedom! At the instruction of St. Micheal! I also saw a video tonight that reported many other churches in France desecrated! Holy Sacrement violated! Our Lady’s statues damaged! And now Notre Dame!! In my heart, I feel this is spiritual attack. Let us respond with the weapon that binds the serpent! Rosary in our hands!

  4. Now that we have entered this time, there will be pain. We must pray and keep our oil lamps filled! Thank you for this response.

  5. Oh I agree with a Friend of Medjugorje…this is an “omen”…one that says something that should bring us all to our knees praying for our world, our children, our loved ones. These pictures show how horrible this is and how heartbreaking. I understand that the crown of thorns and the nail was saved. May God have mercy on us.

Praise God and Our Lady there were no reports of injuries or death. Jesus and the Holy Spirit were there and as always they preavealed.

  7. Brothers and Sisters in The Holy Trinity and Our Wonderful Heavenly Mother, %uFFFD%uFFFD pray, pray, pray …%uFFFD as Our Blessed Virgin Mary teaches us! I am extremely sad to have seen the magnitude of the fire of Notre Dame de Paris. More to have learned from that in this most holy cathedral was the crown of thorns that our Lord carried in his passion (if my translation is good). I am sad for our Lord who bore it with so much suffering and especially in this holy week. Let us obey the ten commandments. Let’s listen, understand Mejanomics and move forward with perseverance in our faith. The times are flaming! %uFFFD Jean. Suggestion: Matthew … 24: 1 – 36 …

  8. Very sorry to get sad news in the email. I jumped & lighted candle on my altar at home & prayed with my wife. Watched the whole news on the local news from BBC. It is very sad to happen specially in this holy week. May Our Blessed Mother send her Angels to restore it back in normal condition.
