The Patriotic Rosary was prayed for the first time at the Cross on Penitentiary Mountain at Caritas…
December 13, 2013 A.D.
Thursday, December 12, the Caritas Community along with pilgrims who traveled to be present for the Five Days of Prayer, December 8-12, prayed the Patriotic Rosary at the Cross on Penitentiary mountain overlooking the Field of Apparitions.

Thursday morning, the pilgrims gathered in the Field to begin the climb at 8 AM, and were greeted by temperatures in the upper 20’s. A Friend of Medjugorje always says that sacrifice is necessary to win more grace for conversions. Those who climbed the mountain in the cold were filled with the spirit of a joyful sacrifice for their nation.
After praying the Stations of the Cross going up, the Patriotic Rosary was prayed at the Cross. It was the first public Patriotic Rosary to be prayed at the Cross. This past July 1-5, during the apparitions of Our Lady to Medjugorje visionary Marija, the United States was re-consecrated and bound to the Cross. The consecration at the Cross in July 2013, was a 20-year culmination of an inspiration that A Friend of Medjugorje received from much prayer and insight, 20 years ago.
Many of the pilgrims who were on the mountian December 12, stated that it was a special experience to pray the Patriotic Rosary, at the Cross dedicated to the healing of the United States.
The Patriotic Rosary was written in 1993, and has been prophetic in that the prayer before each Hail Mary says, ‘We plead the blood of Jesus over [state] and every soul in that state.’ This was a particularly poingnant prayer being said before the Cross, pleading the blood of Jesus over each state by name, on the morning of December 12, which was also the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas. Those who came, could see this as yet another sign of the hand of God guiding the events for our nation’s future.
