Begin Building…

Just recently, the Community of Caritas completed the 9-day bread and water fast, in union with many across the world who were invited to join. Here above, the Community mothers made bread, an Italian recipe from the family of our founder, and the most favorite bread of the Community. The smell of the bread, the memories it brings, are sweet, and all through the labor of the Community. Though the sacrifice of fasting is difficult, it brings holiness and happiness. These sacrifices are necessary to begin to build a new way of life towards the future that Our Lady is leading us towards. It may be one day in the future, that bread will be the very thing that one longs for.

One cannot help but look at the picture above and think, “How beautiful! I wish I had such a life!” Through the years, a Friend of Medjugorje has repeatedly written, spoken and encouraged everyone to begin building. Though some may get tired of hearing him repeatedly call to this, do not be deceived by a false economic prosperity, the future will be different:
 

“There are hundreds of ways to begin building your life according to the new time we are coming into. Pray to understand what you can do to change your life so as not to be dependent on the economic system. And don’t think you have a lot of time to make a decision. Our Lady has repeated, for almost 30 years, that you must change the direction of your life. You are on the wrong path. You have taken a path of misery, a path of ruin. You do not have time to procrastinate. Yesterday was the time to make a decision. In other words, start now! It is a path to peace. It takes years to build a new way of life. He who does not start today, on this new way, will have a bitter, very bitter pill to swallow if he delays a change of life based in Our Lady’s messages because of clinging to the hope for the present economic disorder to revive. You are running the clock out on your ability to make changes that will not be possible in the future. Our Lady said:

“Dear children! My coming to you, my children, is God’s love. God is sending me to warn you and to show you the right way. Do not shut your eyes before the truth, my children. Your time is a short time. Do not permit delusions to begin to rule over you. The way on which I desire to lead you is the way of peace and love. This is the way which leads to my Son, your God…”

“Did you read Our Lady’s words? The greatness is that She is speaking clearly, warning you that you have a short time. Start the path to peace now! Do not think you cannot change things. We know many, many people who are following Our Lady, many who clearly understand that the present way of living is passing quickly away, and yet they still take no steps to change their way of living to be in accord with the fast approaching new time. So many let themselves become overwhelmed thinking there is too much that must be done or that it is too late, and this leads to a dangerous paralysis and resigned continuation of the same way of life. No! Don’t be overwhelmed and slip into paralysis. Our Lady so often says, “Dear children, today!” She wants us to start now, even if we feel far behind. Take the first baby step, and then follow with more little steps. Just as with a little child, each baby step builds strength and confidence to take larger, more advanced steps. Begin with serious prayer. Start today!”
