There are many things which a Friend of Medjugorje has addressed in the Answers about Fasting, section here. But, one thing we will bring up, is that when we are standing at the beginning of something like the 9-day fast which began yesterday, the ninth day seems a long ways away. However, overcoming the moments of weakness brings joy, peace and a new strength. We are not here to sympathize with you, to give you a “poor you” talk. What we will tell you is that when it becomes difficult, Our Lady is with you, near you. Do not give in to the moment, do not think too much ahead, but live every day with love, and be tough, be strong – you have Our Lady near you. A Friend of Medjugorje tells us that Our Lady is building a strong people. This fast will make you stronger every day, just as She wants us to be. Thank you Caritas & A Friend of Medjugorje for organizing this Annual 9-Day Bread & Water Fast! I want everyone to know that Fasting is a Gift, A GREAT GIFT from God!! If you ask for this Gift with an open Heart, you will receive that Gift! I was afraid at first, but now I realize that it is not only possible to fast on Bread & Water for 9 days, but also very rewarding! I have so much energy and so great a desire to pray, really pray from the Heart! I am praying to go to Medjugorje again, but this time with my Husband! I pray for Caritas and all your intentions! If not for you, I wouldn’t be where I am today! I know Heaven hears our prayers, but as A Friend of Medjugorje said, fasting is the Ammunition to get our prayers answered! Thank you again, Caritas & A Friend of Medjugorje for Everything You Do!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
