The 9-day bread and water began yesterday. Hundreds of people from all over the world have joined in, covering in prayer, the entire year of 2021, and starting over the year. Some days have more than one person covering those days in prayer. One person wrote to us:
“I started the 9-day bread and water fast today, but wasn’t sure if I could do bread and water only. Now that I’ve started and read the FAQ’s and prayed, I know I can do it not just today, but all 9 days, though not easily. Sacrifice, prayer and love is so important, especially right now… Thanks be to God for His love and mercy and Mary’s apparition (and also His hand working through my mother who let me know about this fast). Thank you for all you do!!”

It can be done. When we do events such as this, we look back to the witness of a Friend of Medjugorje, who, on this very day, 34 years ago, was told by Our Lady, through Marija to witness with his life. Our Lady’s words of October 6, 1986:

When a Friend of Medjugorje was first called by Our Lady to Her work, it was many times difficult. There were many losses, many trials, many hurdles to jump over. Yet, he stayed the course, following Our Lady when it was easy, and when it was not easy. For those of you, joining in this 9-day fast, stay the course when it is easy and when it is not easy. There is too much at stake, and too much of a need for a miracle in our Nation and in the world.
Just a few weeks after Our Lady gave a Friend of Medjugorje the October 6, 1986, message shared above, he was asked by a reporter about his view of Medjugorje. Amazingly, a Friend of Medjugorje was quoted as saying, in the same common-sense approach we hear today:
“If it’s a hoax (Medjugorje), then it’s big news that all these people are being fooled. If it’s not [a hoax], then it’s the biggest news in 2,000 years.”1
Our Lady had already seeded in him the “witness” of Her apparitions. It was either not real, or it was real. And if Medjugorje is real, it’s a big deal, and is something the whole world needs to know about. He stayed the course.

Sweet Queen of heaven, my mother, I love you and will also love you by God’s grace. I am glad that I made it through these 9 days of bread and water fasting. It was really tough but I am glad that you held me tight with you holy mantle to keep me going. Thank you mother because I sincerely believe that all our prayers ( all those who joined in this holy fast) have been answered. I raise my hands in thanksgiving and shout of praise to God the Father, God the Son and Holy Spirit for all the testimonies each and everyone of us have received and yet to receive. I signed up for the 9 day bread and water fast for the first time this year. I was not aware of it before this year. I am so deeply grateful to be a past of this fast. Tomorrow is the last day…and I honestly can say it was a joy and a privilege. Thank You Blessed Mother. I love you so! Praise Jesus!…for He healed me of depression/anxiety this past March. I was considered “treatment resistant”. Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit…now and forever! All for Thee Lord Jesus.
I felt the writings, How to Respond to Persecution, were very interesting, thorough and complete. Adding to the writings were the Bible passages from Luke 21-12-13 16-19 and from Matthew 5-10-13 both passages reflect doing God’s will and the persecution that comes from that. Ultimately, the individuals who carry out His will by, bringing souls to Christ will be persecuted. By honoring Christ, and doing His will, the reward will be gaining one’s life and their reward in heaven. Thank you Lord for your kindness and love.
Miracles and more miracles is what this fast is working at home. Thanks to a Friend of Medjugorje for his fidelity to the messages and for being persistent on teaching it to us. By reading the messages every day randomly, Our Lady speaks so strongly that life is transformed into a new life. Separating and joining people in the same way Jesus told us about the wheat and the weed. It´s simply God´s Word coming to show His truthfullnes. Thank you so much. I was called to Medjugorje mysteriously. Upon viewing amazing videos of Our Queen of Peace working miracles of the sun and learning if the life of Mirjana, I purchased the book My Heart Will Triumph. This led me to learning of the 9 day bread and water fast that began yesterday. I was very nervous but since I have begun, all fear ceased. It is rather effortless, although I would really love a chef salad now! Anyway, upon the evening, the sky turned a powder blue and the most amazing rose colored clouds covered the sky!! This morning while walking early, the soft powder blue sky and most heavenly rose colored clouds dusted the horizon!!! It was so beautiful!!! As if she was greeting us all with such gentle, loving kisses. This is such an incredible experience. 9 days is nothing compared to her graces! She is so happy for everyone! Keep it up, I am honored to walk with you all on this journey.
