The mountain air was cold this morning of March 18, 2015, as pilgrims began arriving at around 2:30 a.m. The sky was clear, beautiful and full of stars. Mirjana arrived at around 1:30 p.m. amidst a crowd of thousands that was very joyfully anticipating Our Lady’s apparition. Our Lady appeared to Mirjana at approximately 1:45p.m. and the apparition lasted 5 to 6 minutes. Mirjana was very serious during the rosary in preparation for the apparition and joyful when Our Lady arrived, and her countenance moved between tears, smiles, and seriousness during the apparition. Following is Our Lady of Medjugorje’s March 18, 2015 Message given during Mirjana’s annual apparition at the Blue Cross on Apparition Mountain in Medjugorje:
Afterwards Mirjana could not say that Our Lady was sad or joyful, but She was as a Mother who was addressing Her children with love. And then Mirjana added, saying, “Today’s beautiful day of Our Lady, Our Lady’s descending among us here on earth, the descending of paradise on earth, is not because it is my birthday. Our Lady did not even mention my birthday because for Her, my birthday is like the birthday of any one of you. But when the things start happening, the things for which She (Our Lady) has come here, then you will comprehend why She chose the 18th of March.”

Pictures from the Apparition
A young man bent in prayer, a serious countenance, oblivious to the distractions around him and free from the wars in his life. Peace in his heart is found on the mountain in prayer, just before Our Lady arrives. Peace remains in hearts that live the words of Our Lady who says today:
Medjugorje visionary, Marija, in an interview in 1993 during the Bosnian war, reveals a personal understanding behind the urgency and meaning of Our Lady’s words,
“…We still have a great many changes to make in our lives, all of us. So when people ask me am I sad that the world has not responded to Our Lady’s call as much as it could and should have, I look first at Medjugorje…because we also must try harder…If we had listened more carefully to Our Lady when She asked us to pray and fast with our hearts, that in this we could even stop wars, would it have occurred to us that She was talking also about our own country? Now I know that She was and I realize too, that if we begin to take Her messages seriously even now and really try to live them, then we will be helped in this terrible situation of war…”

Early morning Wednesday, March 18, 2015, the warmth of the morning sun breaks upon those who gathered throughout the night on Apparition Mountain. What is it pilgrims come to Medjugorje seeking that they will stay up all night in prayer? This man’s hands, open and outstretched, hold a sign of truth. Absent of cell phone and unpeace, his hands are open in an expression of what his heart desires.
What is your heart seeking this Lent? Who is your heart listening to? Our Lady urges us today,
A Friend of Medjugorje wrote in 2003:

A group of priests were asked just before the apparition, to say a prayer for the coming of the Holy Spirit over all gathered. Hands raised in blessing, hands which hold the Sign, the greatest Sign. Blessed hands that give the truth in communion with Her Son, call down the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our Lady said soon after,
What is truth? What is opinion? What are facts? What do you need in today’s world to see the truth? A Friend of Medjugorje writes:
“…Simply said, the media gives you facts, not truth. The void of or the shallowness of prayer in today’s man does not obtain for him the wisdom necessary to understand the truth…”

As the moment of apparition arrives today, March 18, 2015, Mirjana is within Our Lady’s presence, just she and the Mother of God. The visionaries of Medjugorje have relayed that when Our Lady appears, all else disappears. Prayer is a dialogue, an experience of the heart. For the experience of prayer in the heart, reject all that is untrue in your heart and around you. Today, Our Lady implored us to, “…be vigilant…for truth…”
Mirjana relayed a story in the beginning days of the apparitions that shows the need for vigilance even when seeking truth. Mirjana said,
“Yes, I saw the devil. I was waiting for Our Lady…he promised me the nicest things. I said, “No!” Then all at once he disappeared and Our Lady came. She told me that he always tries to turn the true believer from the right path…”

Mirjana smiles at Our Lady as she hears the message, given today, March 18, 2015. There is no deception in the eyes Mirjana peers into. Our Lady speaks 100% truth. No exaggeration. No self-interest, only the interests of God to the fullest measure. We live in a society where truth has been turned up-side-down. There is deception all around us. But Truth will win in the end, and knowing that brings “true peace.” A Friend of Medjugorje, five years ago, prophetically clarifies Our Lady’s message today, March 18, 2015, how this will be:
“In virtually every aspect of society, Jesus is being rejected. But Truth’s light will drive away all darkness. Being that the world is in darkness, it is, therefore, headed for a crash…A grossly erred civilization built on lies cannot, will not, nor has ever withstood the forces of confrontation when Truth was laid in its path. The stone wall of Truth crushes that which runs into it. This civilization is headed straight for the wall of God’s Truth….The confrontation between the two conflicting sides will result in only one being victorious. It will be a clear victory. The track record of survival of all civilizations in history who pit their lies vs. Truth is “0” victories. When God comes among His people, His track record of Truth vs. lies is 100% victorious. When evil matures to the point of no return, history shows that God’s decisions are decisive.”

Mirjana smiles at a friend or a pilgrim, waving to one who perhaps has just wished her a Happy Birthday. Mirjana has repeatedly said throughout the years that Our Lady doesn’t normally wish her a Happy Birthday in her annual birthday apparition because the reason that She appears on this day is not because it’s Mirjana’s birthday, but for some unknown reason that we will understand in the future. Mirjana emphasized this point again, saying, “But when the things start happening, the things for which She (Our Lady) has come here, then you will comprehend why She chose the 18th of March.” A mystery yet to be revealed like so many other aspects of Medjugorje. If we were reading a book, how many would jump to the end to find out what the mystery is? Only Mirjana has that privilege, but to know the future is not the joy we suppose it would be. Even with the joy on her face today, the weight of the knowledge she bears is apparent.
Mirjana’s statement today is in contrast with the experience of visionary Marija, marking the emphasis of March 18 with greater significance. Visionary Marija, in the mid-1980’s, said Our Lady gave her (Marija) a kiss on her birthday. On another occasion, Marija shared with A Friend of Medjugorje that Our Lady had given her the gift of the Italian language on her birthday. From that day on Marija has been able to speak Italian fluently. The absence of even a birthday salutation by Our Lady on Mirjana’s birthday only enhances March 18 in the future.
Mirjana, after her apparition ended, withdraws within herself in reflection, before relaying the message of Our Lady.
Our Lady, in the Spring of 1982 said:
For most of us, Medjugorje shook us out of our complacency and reinvigorated our faith. But after following Our Lady for so many years, have we become complacent once again? A Friend of Medjugorje wrote, in “Whose Opinion is Right?,” twenty-two years ago:
“To whom is [Our Lady] talking about ‘the Faith?’ It is to us Christians—children, singles, married couples, priests, nuns, widowed. To us in the Christian Church who are in crisis. To us who represent ‘the Faith,’ and who point the finger at those in darkness, ignoring the three fingers pointing back at us. We are three times more responsible than that one person who is in darkness. How can he become light if we do not live light? For 12 years…everyday…twelve long years…Heaven is so desperate to reach us that it is speaking to us as never before in the history of the world…”

And today Our Lady said twice, “…I am imploring you children…I am imploring you…” Are you reading the messages out of curiosity or are you reading them to change the direction of your life?
The crowd below the Blue Cross await in silence Our Lady’s message. Though the majority of those present at the apparition today may consider themselves followers of Our Lady, if they were polled on a variety of subjects that are controversial in our culture and Church, you would find a multitude of opinions that they would say is “their truth”. Yet, today Our Lady says, “…I am imploring you: be vigilant and open for truth…” Our Lady speaks about “true cognition”, “true wisdom”, and “true peace.” Is your truth based on the same truth of Our Lady? If not, will you one day find that you are not in the family of God, choosing a different “truth” to live by rather than doing the difficult work of discovering the “real truth” of the faith and changing your life based in that truth? A Friend of Medjugorje brings us deeper into reflection on the need to search our hearts to be, as Our Lady desires for us, open for truth:
“In the future, as society heads toward total disaster, whose children do you want to be? Children of the world or children of Mary? Whose Son was Jesus, thereby making Him our Brother? Whose Father was God, thereby making Him also our loving Father?…It may be understandable how one could be deeply hurt, wounded, and lacerated in the heart by God’s truth; yet sometimes this may be exactly what’s needed to reconcile ourselves back to God as His people.”
