Feast of Joan of Arc

A Friend of Medjugorje wrote in 2010:
 

“Our Lady, through Medjugorje, is to save the world. This remarkable feat, coming to us was foreshadowed by Joan of Arc 580 years ago. A young maiden was chosen by God to save France, as Our Lady of Medjugorje is chosen by God to rescue and save the world by rallying Her children.

“When Joan of Arc rose up to save France, she had to bring enthusiasm to soldiers who had been fighting a war that had been going on for 100 years. Some of these men had been personally fighting their whole lifetime, and they were seasoned to it. They were not in a position to exemplify that newness, that freshness of the message and “call” of Joan of Arc. They had grown hard over the years and, through apathy, were losing the war. They did not very easily give way to fresh hope. But Joan of Arc’s call brought in a new beginning, hope and enthusiasm to a worn-out France. If we always look to the Queen of Peace, Our Lady of Medjugorje, who now calls to save us in a worn-out world as Joan of Arc did to save France, we can be strengthened with a fresh enthusiasm and hope as the war-hardened soldiers of Joan of Arc’s day were rallied and invigorated by her…”¹

Our Lady of Medjugorje’s call today is invigorating a world which is tired, giving us fresh hope. Our Lady said on June 25, 2010:
 

“…Spread my messages in this tired world. Dear children, I desire for you to be my sign, my living sign…”

Joan of Arc has been a special patron for a Friend of Medjugorje for many years, and she has been an inspiration in many circumstances when a tired world, a tired church, a tired Medjugorje movement was not open to the freshness of the call of Our Lady and in living a new way of life. Now, as we have entered the 100 year anniversary since the apparitions of Fatima, many understand that we are in a pivotal year. 

A Friend of Medjugorje has been making many moves to better position the mission of Caritas to be ready for the Great Time of Evangelization. Be on the lookout in the next few days for a special announcement from a Friend of Medjugorje about one part of this plan of Our Lady that will bring about a freshness to a tired world. Be in prayer.
