What will bring the angels?

The founder of Caritas’ wife, Annette, loves angels. She has been a collector of angels for years. The Community used to say that the founder and his wife ran an angel hospital, because with 5 boys, ceramic angels would not last very long, so repairs, “angel surgery” became a common activity. On November 21, 1988, shortly after Medjugorje visionary Marija came to their home, and before the Community was started, Our Lady surprised the founder and his wife by bringing angels during the apparition. It was a special joy for the founder and his wife that Our Lady would give this grace, which was a great desire of their heart.
Shortly before Our Lady came in 1988, the founder of Caritas, not knowing that Our Lady would be coming to their home was awakened from his sleep. In his heart he felt a great call to get up and take the Crucifix that Fr. Slavko had given him.* The founder walked around the house in the middle of the night with the Crucifix, and prayed before every window and door of his home. He prayed that God would assign an angel to every window and door for protection. The founder then traced the Sign of the Cross on every window and door and touched the Crucifix to the glass. He knew that he could not go back to sleep until every window and door of his home was blessed.
The founder of Caritas and his wife had begun to make changes in their life. These changes would be the beginnings of Community life. This is part of the reason why Our Lady came, because She found fertile ground to plant a seed. The founder and his wife had a great desire to please God. Our Lady’s words of August 2, 2005 confirm:
Looking back to 1988, the founder and his wife had begun to get rid of false idols and false glitter of the world. They had begun to cleanse their hearts. And Our Lady came, and so did the angels.
Think this week, as a spiritual exercise, of what false idol lives in your home, workplace or church? What idol do you offer incense to, what false glitter mesmerizes your eyes and the eyes of your children? Do this spiritual exercise this week as we come closer to the feast of Thanksgiving so that your heart may be a pure place for the angels to come and sing, so that the Queen of Angels may come and sing in your heart and home.
