There were thousands of people up on the mountain tonight, June 16, 2024. Many, many Croatians were present and could be heard praying. Medjugorje visionary, Marija, arrived around 10:00 p.m. to lead the Rosary.
After singing a few songs, Marija began the Joyful mysteries. Each decade was prayed in a different language.
This is a still frame taken on a 16mm camera, during the filming of The Lasting Sign in 1988. Rocks like this have greeted millions of pilgrims through the years in Medjugorje, from every walk of life. A Friend of Medjugorje has broken through the barriers of religion and placed Our Lady in the hands of many non-religious people, political figures, people from the highest places in society, to peasants. In 2009, a Friend of Medjugorje wrote a piece titled, This is My Time, which was meant to introduce people to Our Lady, and which can be read here.
After the Joyful Mysteries were finished, Marija had several people in different languages pray the St. Francis prayer for peace (Make me a channel of your peace…).
We then began a second Rosary. Marija began praying the 7-7-7 prayers after we finished the second rosary.
Our Lady came at around 11:37 p.m. June 16, 2024, and the apparition lasted 6-7 minutes. The following is Marija’s description of the apparition.
“When Our Lady came, I recommended all of us, all our intentions, all that we hold in our hearts, all our sacrifices and all we have done for peace. Our Lady extended Her hands above all of us and She prayed over all of us in Her own Motherly language, Aramaic, for a long time. Our Lady asks us to come tomorrow even in a bigger number because She needs our prayers. Our Lady blessed us all and She left to Heaven.”
