Many people have been contacting Caritas of Birmingham because of a rumor that Jelena, one of the interior locutionists of Medjugorje has had a stroke. Jelena is pregnant with her fifth child. She has experienced difficult pregnancies in the past. It began circulating this week that she had recently suffered a stroke. A Friend of Medjugorje spoke to several contacts in Europe and also spoke with Medjugorje visionary Marija Lunetti this morning, December 16, 2011. Jelena did suffer a stroke and she is currently in a hospital in Italy recuperating. Marija said that Jelena is okay and stable.

We know that you will respond to this information with prayers for Jelena and her family and a safe delivery for her baby.

I am so sorry to hear about Jelena’s illness…and she is still quite young. I will definitely be praying for her.

  6. Thank you for sharing this information about Jelena. I certainly will keep her in my prayers and pray for a safe delivery and healthy outcome for her and her newborn. I met a very young Jelena on my first trip to Medjugorje in 1988 and was so impressed with her and her efforts in forming youth prayer groups. May God Bless her and all her family.
