Special Edition
October 8, 2020 A.D.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the special Entrustment by Pope John Paul II, giving the next 1,000 years to the Virgin Mary. What has happened since? Today’s read is a little longer, as it was the full report given by a Friend of Medjugorje who was in Rome for this historic event, and the Caritas Community that was praying in union with him in Medjugorje and in Alabama. This is one more example of how many times a Friend of Medjugorje was directly involved in certain world events, and has hidden his witness, because Our Lady told him on October 6, 1986, to live in humility.
A Friend of Medjugorje promoted the October 8, 2000, Entrustment to Our Lady in the Caritas Newsletter. Thousands of flyers and posters were printed in which a Friend of Medjugorje clearly spelled out what this Entrustment would mean. What follows, is what was written by a Friend of Medjugorje, and printed on the flyers and posters, which were mailed out all over the world, and posted in the Caritas Mission House in Medjugorje.

The world will change for the next 1000 years on
October 8, 2000
Because their nation was in grave peril, the Filipino Bishops declared 1985 as a Marian year. Within months, their nation was saved.
John Paul II, inspired by these events, named and consecrated 1987 a Marian year for the whole world. Within months, the Berlin Wall crumbled. The communist regimes of Russia, Rumania, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and others, literally nation after nation, fell.
John Paul II was very surprised at the vastness and at the speed of which these events occurred. In turn, it inspired him to name ’97, ’98, and ’99 for Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit, and God the Father.
The Pope now calls all the Bishops of the world to Rome, he is now crowning the three years on October 8, 2000, consecrating the next 1000 years into the hands of the Most Holy Virgin Mary.
What can we expect of three years to the Trinity and this solemn act of entrustment, consecrating the next 1000 years to Mary? The fruit of one nation’s Marian year and the world’s Marian year brought about swift radical change. What of October 8, 2000? Its fruit is a guaranteed result, for Jesus said to Peter, “what ever you shall declare bound on earth is bound in Heaven.” October 8, 2000, the Pope, with the world’s Bishops, will bind 1000 years to Our Lady. Revelation 20:1-3 states:
“And I saw an angel coming down from Heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and satan, and bound him for a thousand years. And he cast him into the abyss, and closed and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished. And after that he must be let loose for a little while.”
You are encouraged to be a part of this event, which is beyond historic. Every Mass, every prayer, every sacrifice will only increase the grace attached to October 8, 2000. Ask your priests to offer Mass in consecration in union with the entrustment on October 8. On that day, join with friends; gather in prayer groups; do whatever you are inspired to do to inform all to be a part of an act of consecration affecting you, your family, generations of your family yet to be born; a consecration affecting a host of other souls into the next 10 centuries.

Many people across the world responded to a Friend of Medjugorje’s call, and helped promote this important event in their churches. What follows, is the full report of this historic Entrustment, and, what we should expect to see happen as a result. We were more than surprised to read what was written, as a Friend of Medjugorje’s words have proven to be prophetic.
In the writing below, a Friend of Medjugorje is a first-hand witness, and refers to himself as [the founder]. Many times throughout the years, he has, in telling many of the stories, refers to “we”, or “our”, or “us”, when in fact, many times it is solely him. This is another part of his history, in which he hides himself behind others, or groups himself with the Community, because Our Lady has asked him to live in humility. In the writing below, you will know when reading “we” is referring to the Community along with him.

A New Possibility for Peace is Opened
by a Friend of Medjugorje
We wonder sometimes over the ways and the timing of God. For those who had been following the Church’s schedule of events for the Jubilee Year, we knew the Holy Father would be entrusting the New Millennium, the next one thousand years to Our Lady. We understood that this was an extraordinary event, that it was linked to Our Lady’s triumph, and yet it wasn’t until a month before the Entrustment was to take place that the full impact of this action of the Holy Father hit our hearts. It propelled us to action as we began to send out mailing after mailing to inform as many people as possible of what great event was about to happen and the implication it has for our future. We were surprised that no one was really speaking about this event or informing others. As soon as our mailings hit your mailboxes, we were swamped with phone calls and requests for hand-out materials and posters to hang in church vestibules in order to spread the news. Throughout the days leading to October 8th, it was not uncommon to find all sixteen of our phone lines completely lit up with incoming calls. There was an aura of excitement and awe and one right after another expressed their desire to fully participate in this one moment of history that would impact the world forever, as well as help spread the news to others.
One priest from Florida called, ordered several posters to be Fed-Exed to him and asked if it was possible to send him a copy of the Act of Entrustment prayer the Holy Father would be praying in that moment. We did not know if it had even been released. We have some in Rome who are working with our community and, we asked them to do a little investigating for us. [The] founder, along with two other members of the community, met them in Rome a few days later (October 6th) and Our Lady opened the door to them meeting those who were in charge of the October 8th events in the Vatican. The Entrustment prayer was not going to be released beforehand. However, after hearing how many in the United States were planning prayer events in union with the Holy Father’s prayer, they agreed to give the prayer to [our founder] as long as it was not released anywhere in Europe before the Holy Father prayed it on the 8th. On October 7th, we were able to place the prayer on our phone system, as well as fax it to those who had requested it. It was a beautiful grace to have this prayer and to pray it in union with the Holy Father as he offered it to Our Lady for the first time.
In Rome, those from our community [with a Friend of Medjugorje] who were present expressed to us that there was a strong sense of something in the air, something like what one feels awaiting Christmas. Everyone felt it. Even many of the Cardinals, Bishops and Priests expressed the same. The program in Rome on October 7th, the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, began with prayers and songs. Not only was this day to honor Our Lady of the Rosary, but to prepare for the following day of the Consecration of the Church and the world to Our Lady. There was then a procession with the actual statue brought from Fatima, Portugal, of Our Lady of Fatima. Heavily guarded with security and guards, the statue was led in procession starting from within St. Peter’s Basilica, where it rested at St. Peter’s tomb, then out to St. Peter’s Square to be placed on a platform next to where the Holy Father would be sitting. The Holy Father also followed behind the statue in procession. He said a prayer as the Rosary began. The Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary were prayed. The Rosary was in eight parts with songs and prayers from different Bishops and Cardinals between each decade. The Holy Father also addressed everyone between each decade. A family from Australia, Asia, America, and Africa led the first four decades of the Rosary. The fifth decade was led by the only living visionary from the apparitions of Fatima, Sr. Lucia. She prayed the decade from her convent in Portugal, with her voice transmitted over the whole surrounding area of St. Peter’s. Before each decade, a candle was lit by the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, and at the end of each decade, all the faithful gathered sang Ave Maria while holding up their lit candles. The Holy Father ended the Rosary with a prayer, while three Portuguese children, dressed as shepherds, presented flowers at the feet of the statue. There was then a procession of the statue, followed by the Pope, throughout St. Peter’s Square leading back into the Pope’s private chambers. Those who were present from our community said the Rosary was very powerful, and the scene absolutely breathtaking with the Bishops and Cardinals in their colorful vestments, the thousands of lit candles, the simplicity of hearing the young voices of the families praying the Rosary, and being in the presence of the Holy Father–no words can truly describe the moment. There were somewhere between 1,100 and 1,400 Priests and Bishops present. A great anticipation for the next day’s consecration on October 8th was greatly felt by all.
On the 8th, Holy Mass began at 10AM in Rome in St. Peter’s Square. There were 1,156 Bishops and 80 Cardinals present from every corner of the world. Not since the time of the Second Vatican Council has there been so vast a representation of a gathering of the world’s Bishops. The Universal Church was truly present in this historic meeting.
Marija Lunetti, the visionary from Medjugorje traveled to Rome where she met with [the founder] on October 8th. A few days earlier, [our founder] was speaking with her and asked her to ask Our Lady if She would appear early on October 8th during the Consecration in St. Peter’s Square. Marija asked Our Lady during her regular apparition on October 7th. When Marija and [the founder] met on the morning of the 8th in Rome, he asked her what Our Lady said in response to the question. Marija said that Our Lady said,
October 7, 2000
“I will be present.”
He then asked Marija what she thought Our Lady meant by saying, “I will be present.” Marija responded that she did not know if Our Lady would appear to her or if Our Lady meant She would be present just as if during an apparition but not seen by her.
As it turned out, Our Lady did not appear early to Marija on October 8th, but all felt She was truly there especially when the Holy Father, evidently inspired by some sense of Our Lady’s presence during the whole event, stated during the Consecration ceremony, in almost the exact words that Our Lady said to Marija the day before, that Our Lady is present with us. At 12 o’clock noon, the Pope knelt before the statue of Our Lady of Fatima and entrusted the entire Church and the world to Our Lady. Those members of our community [a Friend of Medjugorje, his wife and son] who were present in Rome along with Marija were near the altar where the Holy Father was celebrating the Mass and Consecration ceremony. In fact, as the Bishops and Cardinals processed in, no more than five feet away from our community members and Marija, some recognized Marija, and she happily jumped in the line, greeting them as they passed her. They were obviously delighted to see her present on this day. Our community members expressed to us that they felt they were experiencing something beyond historic, as Bishops walked by two by two taking over 30 minutes to process. Everyone present felt something immensely important was taking place.
During the consecration prayer, the Holy Father called upon the Holy Spirit to come in full capacity just as the Holy Spirit came during the first Pentecost, obviously referring to what may happen sometime in the near future, a Second Pentecost. The whole universal church was present as the Pope recited and prayed for the “protection of the future of the church for what lies hidden in the future.” In the evening ceremony, the Holy Father participated in the simple but beautiful closing of this historic and significant event that is beyond our comprehension and understanding as to it’s importance. Here at Caritas, we had a simple but beautiful night of prayer, gathered in the Field of apparition. Two weeks before October 8th, a dear friend of our mission called to inform us that she was sending us a relic of St. Joachim, Our Lady’s father, as a gift to our community and mission. [Our founder] wanted it to be a surprise and said to wait for October 8th to reveal it to the community. That inspiration led him to say that we should bring out all the relics we have been given over the years and have them present in the Field the night of the Entrustment. They were beautifully arrayed on our altar in the Field and we could tangibly feel the presence of the saints that night praying in union with us as we approached the climax of the night. That night to our surprise temperatures that had been warm since summer (never dropping below the 60-70’s mark) had dropped drastically to the mid-thirties, and small rain clouds drifted above us at times, breaking up the starry night. The wind blew strongly the entire night, making it even colder, though we found that exciting because for us the wind is always a sign of Our Lady and the Holy Spirit. Our Lady said from Medjugorje,
“The wind is my sign. I will come in the wind. When the wind blows, know that I am with you….When it is cold, you come to church; you want to offer everything to God. I am, then, with you. I am with you in the wind. Do not be afraid.” February 15, 1984
We prayed the Joyful Mysteries at 10PM, the Sorrowful Mysteries at Midnight, and at 3AM, just as the Holy Father was beginning Mass in Rome, we began the Glorious Mysteries, ending with the prayer of Entrustment and continued on in prayer for the next several hours, learning later that the Holy Father prayed the Consecration just before 5AM our time. It was for us a glorious night. We had pilgrims who had flown in from California, others who drove from as far away as Michigan and Texas, who had less than 24 hour notice, and others who cancelled important plans and engagements to be with us in Our Lady’s Field. There were some we never met, as they came in the middle of the night and left before we had a chance to speak to them, but that in itself added beauty to our evening. We know there were many others who were with us in spirit who would have loved to be with us in the Field. Your prayers and presence were near to us and you were remembered to Our Lady from our hearts.
We heard from many people who had planned their own event at home and in their parish churches. Many did special processions to honor Our Lady. The priest from Florida was thrilled to receive the prayer of the Holy Father before the event. Both parish priests were present for the whole event in their church. About 400 people attended and participated in a long procession through the church grounds, the parish cemetery, and the three churches that are on the grounds, as they prayed all three mysteries of the rosary. The procession ended in the middle church where the priest then prayed the Act of Entrustment and entered into Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Adoration for the rest of the night. It was said of this event that it was beautiful, absolutely beautiful. In parishes throughout our country, Our Lady was honored in similar ways.
In Medjugorje, as the parish had not scheduled anything in union with the Holy Father, the members of our community who were currently in Medjugorje invited any pilgrim who desired to pray together in union with the Church in Rome to come to our Mission House in Medjugorje. A priest who had picked up a poster and a flyer at our Mission House was so excited about the event himself, that the following day he spoke in his homily at the English Mass in St. James Church about the Entrustment and encouraged pilgrims to go to our Mission House to get further information. For two days there were non-stop pilgrims coming through our doors. All expressed a desire to come together in prayer. On October 8th, in the pouring rain, 120 people from countries around the world gathered in and around our mission house with enthusiastic joy to be able to be in Medjugorje and in prayer as the Holy Father honored Our Lady through the Consecration. They were all very grateful to have the opportunity to be brought together in prayer for this event through our community. We are grateful to Our Lady for giving us the means and ability to be used as Her instruments in spreading the information to countless people in such a short time, and for so many faithful supporters of our work who respond so swiftly to any and all of our requests to help spread Her messages and Her plans as they unfold.
As for what happens next, it is difficult to imagine. We believe this moment of entrustment was the moment Our Lady was given the graces to crush the power of satan. This will lead to the moment of the triumph, the victory of Her Immaculate Heart. In time, we will see the physical manifestation appear of what has already taken place in the spiritual realm, a complete victory over all hearts who desire Jesus to rule as King. And now this particular century is Our Lady’s. Our Lady said on December 25, 1999,
“Dear children! This is the time of grace. Little children, today in a special way with little Jesus, whom I hold in my embrace, I am giving you the possibility to decide for peace. Through your ‘yes’ for peace and your decision for God, a new possibility for peace is opened. Only in this way, little children, this century will be for you a time of peace and well-being…”
The prayer of the Holy Father sheds some light on how we should look towards the future.
Remarkably, on Sunday, October 22, which was World Mission Day, two weeks after the Holy Father made the entrustment of the church and world to Our Lady for the next 1,000 years, the Holy Father again offered Mass in St. Peter’s Square and concluded a 15-minute homily with these exciting words:
“For one of Christ’s disciples, being first means being “the servant of all”. It is an inversion of values, which can be understood only by looking at the Son of man “despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief” (Is 53:3). These are words which the Holy Spirit will enable the Church to understand in relation to the mystery of Christ. Only at Pentecost will the Apostles receive the ability to believe in the “power of weakness” revealed in the Cross….Let us ask the Queen of Peace, Queen of the Missions and Star of Evangelization, for the gift of peace. Let us invoke her maternal protection on all who generously work to spread the name and message of Jesus. May she obtain for us such a living and ardent faith that the proclamation of the truth of Christ, the only Saviour of the world, may be heard with renewed force by the men and women of our time. Lastly, I would like to recall the words I spoke 22 years ago in this square: “Do not be afraid! Open the doors to Christ!”
The Pope said, “Those who spread the message”. This is you as Field Angels* and we thank you with all our hearts for helping to spread Our Lady’s messages in the name of Jesus. You are participating in the most important plan since the days of Christ. Our Lady’s first words to us as we began the new year were
“…At this great and holy time in which you have entered, pray in a special way for those that have not experienced yet the love of God. Pray and wait.” January 2, 2000
Are we coming to the end of our waiting? Are we ready to be the light of Christ in the darkness, to be the salt of the earth? Are we ready to spread far and wide all that Our Lady has taught us over these almost twenty years of apparitions? Do not be afraid. Open your door to Christ!
Reading now, 20 years later, a Friend of Medjugorje write of seeing a physical manifestation happen, of what took place in the spiritual realm, literally gave us goosebumps, as we can clearly see that for the past 20 years, his prophetic words are proving that Our Lady has been laying the groundwork for Her Triumph to take place. Continue to pray and fast. If you have not joined in the 9-day fast, begin today, and continue for 9 days, in union with almost 600 people across the world praying these prayers for Our Lady’s plans of triumph for the United States and the whole world.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I had goosebumps the whole time I read it. I just came from Mass 3/25./22 I brought a copy of the Consecration prayer to Mass at noon and asked the priest if he was going to read it. He was not going to read it but spoke about it in his homily. I helped give out Eucharist at the Mass. He asked if I would bring the prayer to him as he decided to read it after Mass. It was 12:45 EST (apparition time) when he read it. It was so moving. Then I came home & read this writing on the Entrustment and felt awe at how Our Lady moves people and allows participation in Her Plan! I love you all. Thank you for this.
What was written was beautiful and important! But why after the consecration, is there all this trouble now: coronavirus and upheaval in our country? I joined the prayer and fasting for 9 days. I pray. Pray for me, your field angel, who am all alone. I am so sad that I cry much. Thank you for all you do for Jesus, Our Lady, our country and the world. Pray God will send me someone to be with, love me and pray with me. Thank you Caritas.
This gives so much hope at this time when it is needed so much. I think the tide may be turning and the answer to our prayers is not too far away. It seems people may be waking up and seeing what is happening, and reading this explains why.
Thank God for the Philipino Bishops who got the idea rolling for the future Entrustment. Pope John Paul was an astute man who picked up quickly the fruit of what the Philipino Bishops did. As a result of his insight he formed the Entrustment which had positive results. Pope John Paul has lead the world, in essence, to protect the world through beloved Mary. Her presence in the world is gratefully appreciated. I also thought the night when all the relics where brought out was wonderful. Take Care and God Bless to all.
Best wishes & my prayer for Roes in Ireland. I am also legally blind.
Loved it and I will continue to follow. Love 0ur lady
Beautiful wrighting from a very humble Man. I am very thankful for receiving His writings. Please continue your beautiful Words of faith. Barbara
Did you know that the UK Bishops at Walsingham our national Marian shrine re-dedicated England to Mary last March? Right as the coronavirus pandemic properly hit the UK? Again mysteriously this was already a planned event for the end of March even before the pandemic started. But how much more valuable the re-dedication will have been than we could ever have known! As when the event was planned we knew nothing of the virus! What an amazing Protector She is! God truly has it all in hand and works in mysterious ways!
Some four weeks ago whilst I was sitting in my living room a bang was heard! When I looked out of my window a pigeon had flown into my window and left the whole imprint of his body on the window which looked like that of the Holy Sprit. I have a statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje at the foot of my bed which was badly damaged by hooligans but Our Lady is now looking wonderful & beautiful. Whilst I was out in my garden yesterday replanting my garden plants I felt a wonderful sense of happiness when a wind blew up from nowhere it was a beautiful feeling I feel there are so many wonderful moments that occur in our lives we may take them to for granted! I pray mostly to Our Lady so that this world will return to happier times and that this Pandemic of [Coronavirus] will soon resolve.
God our Father in Heaven and in Jesus Christ our Saviour, have mercy on the whole world. Amen
This is a great time for the church and a great time for America. President Trump is fighting for Catholicism, removal of Abortion and the continued fight against socialism in the United States. If he does not win World Peace is in Jeopardy. He has Catholics and Jews in his family and he has brought the middle East so near to Peace, closer than anyone in the last 70 years, he is returning American Troops home. A vote for Him is a vote for freedom. It is not about politics this time, it is about freedom, the abortions’ end and world peace. Religion, Catholicism and world peace is at stake. Pray, Pray, Pray and Fast, Fast, Fast. God bless you for your efforts. The Blessed Mother needs our help in blocking the devil’s efforts to destroy America and world Peace.
It’s wonderful news I wish we had known of this earlier, we have a rosary group on media and could have mentioned it today. But it’s lovely hearing of this ??
Thank you Caritas for your YES. I was living in darkness during this time. It was Mother Mary who called me back. In 2004 I was shown my soul as God saw my soul (This was Horrible at first) in 2006 Jesus called me back to the Catholic Church. I am forever grateful and in love with Jesus, Mary, Joseph, ext. I pray the rosary daily, the Divine Mercy Chaplet for the US daily and more. I subscribe to mej.com and I am a field angel. Thank you all for your prayers. Forever grateful Julia
Thank you so much you have lifted my heart. Yesterday we were in hospital about my eye. Paddy here, I Have only one eye, lost the other through a Melenoma in 2008, so had a rough day.
As always, thank you Caritas and bless you. During these 9 days of fasting and prayer this is a powerful writing. So very grateful for your eyewitness account, for your unwavering faithfulness to Our Lady in living her messages , and for your years of prayers and sacrifices. From my heart, I thank you.
