Caritas is a Beehive of Activity These Days as we prepare for Our Lady of Medjugorje’s Return

Caritas is a Beehive of Activity These Days as we prepare for Our Lady of Medjugorje’s Return

These past four weeks in every part of the Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages there has been something going on, and this will continue until Our Lady of Medjugorje’s apparitions in March here at Caritas of Birmingham. We invite you to a behind-the-scenes look at the construction work and the preparation of the Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages for its consecration to Our Lady of Medjugorje in March. Each day, for the next several weeks, we will be updating you with pictures and descriptions of the work of Caritas’ mission and community. We are excited at the progress being made in completing and making ready the building for not only the apparitions, but for the expanding capabilities of the mission to help Our Lady spread Her plans that She started in Medjugorje nearly 30 years ago. We ask for your prayers to help sustain us in these very long and active work days in order to have everything ready for Our Lady when She returns to Caritas in March.

As most of you know, the retooling of the Tabernacle of Our Lady’s Messages has incorporated a four-story addition to the existing floors of the building. We’ve had to revamp so the existing and the newly constructed buildings could be wed together. The first order of the day, while the dividing walls were being knocked down to make the building one, was to move everything off the floors of the print shop and shipping department in order to prepare the floors for painting. That in itself was a huge job. Moving pallets of paper stock and printed material, various Medjugorje printing projects in process, postal equipment and material, as well as the dismantling and moving out of all the printing equipment—everything, 100% utilized for the spreading of Our Lady’s messages through Caritas’ mission, took days. Six tractor trailers plus two containers were brought in for temporary storage for much of the materials and equipment. Even more equipment than the trailers could store was relocated in other buildings at Caritas. Before the “building up” could take place, the “tearing down” and “moving out” had to happen first.
