Yesterday, Medjugorje.com raised $10,746.90. With matching funds, Medjugorje.com has raised a total of $140,905.22, which leaves $67,094.78 to be raised in only 3 days, in order to stay online.
The majority of response came from existing Core-Group members, who through their dedication to Our Lady and Her messages, gave in the name of those who either cannot give, or will not give, because they think everyone else is giving. Do not have the mentality that everyone else is giving. It is with sincere hope and brotherly charity, I pray that mej.com will not go offline. I pray with the best of intentions that enough donors will be found to sustain the website!
I already contribute almost 10% of my take-home pay on a monthly basis, but there are very few charities that exist which I feel are worthy of my monthly tithe. Even now, I am praying if there is more that I can contribute.
Because, to me, I am just a steward of the money I earn, for God is the true owner of all things, and it is rightly so, I should give Him my first offerings each month. And what could be more important than the salvation of souls, including my own? That is what mej.com offers us all.
I know that the economy is affecting a lot of people and many have been hard-hit financially, but to those who are blessed by Our Lord with a job today, this is one of those times, that Jesus is asking us to “walk on water.” Jesus is waiting for our response; we know that He is there with outstretched hands, but are we willing to reach out for them?
It’s amazing, but Our Lord, Who needs nothing, needs each of us, to fulfill His great plan in this world through Our Lady. Can you imagine that? God needs each of us–we are that important to realizing the Kingdom of God in this world. And surely, that is what each of us, believers in Medjugorje, are striving towards?
I know that right now, a generous soul is contributing matching funds for donations up to $40,000 to keep the website alive. But, what about the ultimate matching (and exceeding) of graces from Our Lord, Who Is the God of all the living? Let us all live in Him, Who will outpour His Love for all eternity in gratitude for what we contribute today.
Let us not count the coin that we donate today against the number of souls who might be lost otherwise. If you have a job, give in thanksgiving. If you don’t, give in trust. Either way, let true love of God and your neighbor be your guide. Fear not, love perfectly instead. God bless you!
